I LOVE reading while going #2. Especially gossip magazines. It's so relaxing to me! LOL. My DH can't do anything but sit there and concentrate. He doesn't see how anyone can read while going #2.
What about you? Are you a reading pooper or a concentrating pooper?

I didn't before I had a baby. After childbirth I read that you should read to help ease things along by themselves so you're not just sitting there pushing. I was terrified to poo at first so I did a lot of research on it!

Interesting... I do like to read on the pot. I usually have a "toilet" book going at the same time as a "bed" book and a "car" book. One is on cd, the other is by my bed, the other is by the toilet.

Funny, I'm usually not on there long enough to read anything. Usually I wait until I REALLY have to go and then make a dash to the bathroom and then I'm out in no time. My husband thinks it's crazy how quick I'm in and out.

@theknest: I'm usually pretty quick too (like under a minute?) but I'll still sit there and read for another 5-10 minutes.

@theknest, @lemondrop: Sometimes I'll pretend to have a BAD stomach cramps and diarrhea so that I can sit there and read for 10-15 minutes while my husband deals with my LO during his fussy times.
He'll be like "Are you done yet? LO's crying cause he wants to go outside" And I'll say "Oh man! Sorry babe. My stomach is KILLING me. I have major diarrhea! I'll be out when I'm done". heeheeheehee.

I have never read anything in the bathroom! For some reason, the idea of taking books into the bathroom sort of grosses me out. I guess I just don't want the germs to get on the book, even though that probably doesn't make much sense! Also, I am really fast in the bathroom so I wouldn't be able to get much reading done. I do not let my husband take books/magazines in there either because I think it encourages him to sit in there forever and for some reason (probably because I'm crazy) I want him to stop taking so long. I think sometimes he plays games on his phone in there though - he played me on Words with Friends from the bathroom once and it sort of grossed me out.

I agree about not being in there long enough to read. I've never understood the appeal of staying in longer than needed just to read... maybe I'll change my tune once LO is here and it's harder to come by "me time".

#2 usually takes 15 seconds tops. I don't like sitting on the toilet long so I wait until I have to go. No time to read!

i cannot take number 2 without reading. even if i have to go really bad, if i know i have a new magazine, i'll run and go get it first. i also take a loooong time since i'm constipated so plenty of time to read!

i go super quick but for some reason i always need reading material handy. like what if for some reason i am stuck there for a while with nothing to do. ack! the horror. hahaha.
@banana: i also kill time in there on the weekends so that DH can have some more alone time with the LO. HAHAHAHA. horrible!

@andrea: Horrible but necessary! I'm totally unfair though. If my husband is in there taking his time, I'm constantly bugging him "Hurry up! Hurry up! Why are you taking so long. Just push!" He gets soooo annoyed. hahaha.

@banana: i know, i do the same thing!!! my hubby likes to take forever in there but i don't let him on the weekends. BUT he gets to take forever monday - friday while i get the LO ready for day care kicking and screaming so really, the extra 10 minutes i spend in the pooper saturday and sunday is a fair trade!

@andrea: Yeah, I would say that's a fair trade! I like using the toilet as my free time because I can't think of any other situation where my husband would be ok with me taking my sweet ole time.
