I'm probably the whitest girl in Florida. My skin doesn't tan, and I've stopped trying to make it. Now I'm that girl who wears tons of sunblock, a hat, and sit under an umbrella when I go to the beach. I'm so afraid of skin cancer!

I don't really tan, but if I'm at the beach, I do enjoy laying out in the sun. I'll put on sunscreen, but usually not the 50 spf so that maybe I'll get SOME color. I'm pretty white, so I don't tan well anyway, but I like not being pasty-looking.
If I REALLY want to have a tan (like I did for my wedding), I'll get a spray-on though.

I'm naturally really pale, as well, so I used a tanning bed throughout most of high school and college when you still tend to think you're invincible. It's really hard to live in Florida a be pale (obviously you know this), so I dedicated a lot of time to keeping up my "base tan."
But in recent years, I've just kind of come to the conclusion that it's not worth the risk. I already have to reapply sunblock every 15-30 minutes to prevent from burning (if I'm in direct sun), so it just wasn't good to keep forcing my skin to try and keep color. I always bring a big hat and umbrella to the beach now, and take breaks from the sun if I get hot. I can tell when my skin needs a break.
That's not to say I'm not jealous as hell at those lovely bronzed ladies on the beach. But my English/Irish skin just isn't made that way.

I don't. I used to swim a lot when I was younger so I was super dark. Now I stay out of the sun as much as possible.

I get spray tans probably once a month, and when I'm on vacation, I enjoy laying in the warm sunshine for a few minutes. I'm all about the sunscreen, though, because under my spray-tan-bronzed-skin? I'm alllll German/English white girl.

I tan SUPER easily. Usually the first time I'm out in the sun for a long period that's the tan line I get. So I have to be really careful each year or I'll live with horrible tan lines till winter! haha
So now I'll usually lather on sunscreen and lay out for about 20-30 minutes a few times at the beginning of summer to get a even tan line. But besides that I hardly ever just lay in the sun. But with the new house this might all change!

I can get a sun tan but not a very dark one & I burn fairly easily. I used to like to go tanning in the winter months a few days a week but I haven't been tanning in almost 2 years. I will still get a spray tan or use sunless tanners to give myself a bit of color because my skin is WHITE without it...irish & swedish & german ;P Poor DD doesn't have a chance with a tan either lol

I don't tan because my skin is really pale. Going to the tanning bed and laying out doesn't help. It was hard for me when I was a teen because being tan was considered more attractive. I've accepted it now though.

I'm blonde and have green eyes, so in the winter, I'm pale-ish, but during the summer I tan REALLY easily. I used to go to the tanning bed 1-2 times a week (so bad!) but I stopped for 2 reasons: 1) DH's grandmother passed away from cancer 2 weeks before our wedding. She had melanoma that spread to her brain and lungs. I was really close to her. And 2) I got my skin checked by my dermatologist last year and had to have a suspicious mole removed. It turned out to be fine, but I'm terrified of medical procedures so cutting a mole off was enough to get me to stop using the tanning bed.
We live at the beach, so I'm not sure if I can stay away from the sun, but I'm definitely going to use 30 SPF when I'm out.

I love to BE tan. My skin loves the sun. I'm praying our daughter gets my skin. My husband is as pale as an eskimo over a long, cold winter. He wishes he could hibernate in the summer.

I am an overzealous sunscreener. I have red hair, fair skin & freckles, so I'm super cautious. Even slathering on the sunscreen, I always end up getting a bit of healthy color, but I've embraced being pale!

I don’t tan – give me 15 minutes in the sun and I’m burned and bright red. I’m casper white with red hair and I like my pale skin, so I’m a big fan of SPF 50. Plus I figure I will look younge, longer this way! My husband tans very easily and I hope LO inherits his skin, although I will still be slathering her with my SFP 50 whenever we leave the house.

I love being tan but I know how bad it is for me. So I let myself get a little color and then for the rest of the season slather on sunblock.

I love bring tanned and love the heat of sun... I stopped using tanning beds last year. My legs are stark white, so I bought jergens natural glow lotion the other day cuz it was on sale,

I am so glad that most seem to not tan and don't use sunbeds. They are beyond bad for you. I'm not sure if they are still legal here.
I tan quite easily, just from being out and about. I run so I try to remember the sunscreen on my arms. I use a moisturiser with spf every day.

I love the sun, but I do take care not to stay out in the peak times and I always wear sunscreen. I am also getting a rash guard this summer, just to be on the safe side.

I love being outside in the summer. So I usually build up a tan, it has to be slowly though or I burn. But if I keep my skin whitey white it's going to burn and burns are no good. If I tried to stay indoors and out of the sun I'd just be depressed and slowly go crazy so that's not a viable option. So I try to keep sunscreen on and make sure the skin gets well moisturized but I'm glad when the skin turns a bit brown to have the additional sun protection.

I love being tan. I admit to using a tanning bed a few times in the winter when I start getting really pale (so bad I know!), but other than that, I tan really easily from just being outside.
