I LOVE it! I get sad when she sleeps for long stretches because I just want to hold her and feed her...and I get sad when she stops cause each session is only around 5 minutes now. Breastfeeding is my favorite part of every day and night. Am I crazy for feeling like this?
What is your relationship with breastfeeding like?

I still get 15-20 minute sessions. I do love the closeness, but my very favourite part is in the middle of the night nursings, after he's finished, when I hold him upright against me to burp. I put his little cheek against mine and just cuddle him for a few minutes. All is quiet. It's my favourite time.

Love it too! I hated it for the first three months(pumped almost exclusively during my maternity leave) but it got easier and now I look forward to nursing sessions. I hate pumping and washing bottles these days.

I have a love/hate relationship with it.
I totally loved it at first, and at 3 months we developed thrush and it just got so hard. Thrush doesn't go away very easily and at 5..5 months we still have it, so we're still not loving it. I would rather pump and bottle feed but I know I shouldn't. So we cope.
If we didn't have thrush, I would be loving it

I loved how good it was for my LO and that it was free, but the whole planning around feedings when going on outings stressed me out because I can't get used to nursing in public.

I love it but LO decided she would rather take the bottle than nurse during the day. And now we're sleep training at night, so I don't get to nurse her much at all anymore. I was great while it lasted...

I loved it so much! With my first LO I enjoyed the time with her and was totally addicted. With my second LO, it didn't work out. I was so determined to make it work, I suffered through mastitis, horrible latches, and more. But he just wouldn't nurse. I keep joking with my DH that I want another baby just so I can nurse again, because I still love it (even though I can't do it with my son).

I absolutely love the ease of it and the closeness. We had a difficult road to ebf and I am so happy we stuck with it. I do not, however, miss breastfeeding in the middle of the night at all! I love getting my sleep!

I totally agree with you! LO is also down to 10 minutes total so i only get longer nursing sessions at night when she is a bit sleepy.
I never thought i would get to the point where i enjoyed nursing since it was so hard for the first 8 weeks.
I get so happy when she stops, looks up at me and smiles, then goes back to the boob. Melts my heart!

I've unfortunately never loved it. It's been much easier the second time around, and I don't dread every feeding like I did the first time, but I still don't love it

I like it fine, and I love that it's been very successful, but it's not my favourite thing ever. I get bored? And when she's twitchy there's a lot of her trying to pull the nipple out while still nursing. That gets old.
That said, I've either been nursing or pregnant for 3.25 years straight (and some overlap!) so when Wonder Baby weans and I'm (knock wood) all done with babies I guarantee there will be tears.

It has improved quite a bit- I am much more fond of it since he turned 6 months.
There is so much to be said for head and body control on the baby's part. I don't have to guide him to latch anymore, and our sessions are so much shorter, I get a lot more enjoyment out of it these days.

I only made it 2.5 months and given my issues with a very low supply, it was a relief to finally throw in the towel when I did. That said, I have been strictly formula feeding for a week now and I'm starting to miss it. I hope it's a lot easier next time around as I would love to make it until at least the 6 month mark.

I also love it! I love when my little one smiles when i pull her close to get ready to latch and when she stops to smile at me while eating so sweet! My original goal for EBFing was 6 months, but that has definitely changed to longer since we are still going strong and LO is almost 4 mos. I get sad thinking it will end!

I didn't love it at first, but grew to love it!
I've pretty much dried up, but LO still asks for it so I let her comfort nurse 2 times a day.
I'm gonna miss nursing her!

@Coco Bee: wow that's a longtime to have thrush. Ican see how that would damper the love of nursing.
I didt like it at all the first three weeks but after that I loved it.

I used to love it when she had breastmilk as her only form of nutrition (before solids) because I liked feeling like I was nourishing her.

i didn't with charlie, largely because it didn't work out. it took a while to get the hang of things with olive, but once we were in a good groove, i loved it.
it was soooo easy before she started solids! even now it's so much easier than giving a bottle. and i'm so thankful i'm nursing during our 2 1/2 week, 8 flight trip this week because it's my secret weapon to get olive to sleep!
so yes i love it! 10 months and i can't imagine myself stopping any time soon!

I absolutely love it! Sometimes I get tired of it but I actually get happy when she won't take a bottle from dh and love the look of relief on her face once we give in and she starts nursing

@Thehistoryofus: I know I'm getting so sick of it. My breasts are SO itchy and he doesn't consecutively nurse anymore, it's on and off for 10 minutes. It gets annoying.
I tried so many things. We have his 6 mos checkup at the end of the month where we'll talk about it again.

I do love it, but my oldest had allergies and now my youngest also has allergies as well. *Sigh* So aside from having to be creative in eating, I love nursing. It's such great bonding time, even if he's trying to nurse and tug on my nipples and smile at the same time. And that doesn't include the crazy wiggling and trying to flip the nursing cover so everyone can see what's going on underneath there.

I do absolutely love it as well! I never expected to be able to BF DS. I know a lot of new mommy friends who have tried but couldn't make it work out which makes me feel even more thankful that I am still able to do it at 5 months pp. I treasure our time together and take photos of him while nursing - wish I did the same when he was a lot smaller!

I hate how distracted he gets and all the on/off. I dont like leaking and feeling engorged. And when he gets lazy with his latch and ends up biting its seriously painful!
Other than those issues.... if he's nursing seriously and quietly, I love it.

I am in love with nursing. While she's eating, I'll sing and talk to her and she'll flash me a big smile before she starts up again. I love the closeness between us and it's our special bonding time!

I love the closeness of it, but at 3 months it still kinda hurts. I don't think she has the best latch or her suck is too strong... something is off. But besides it hurting a bit, I enjoy it and would really, really, miss it if I stopped. It feels good to know I am giving her everything she needs and helping protect her from germs.

I love it! When I make the sign for milk to LO, he laughs and giggles and gets all excited. I would love to be able to get more sleep at night....but I really wouldn't trade it for anything

I used to love love it, now I'm sort of over it. She is weaning herself these days, I doubt I'll get past 14-15months, she is so uninterested these days.

I do love it, but nowadays, the kids don't go past 5 min, sometimes even only 3 min, so sad! Only at night when they are nursing while falling asleep do they go longer. I love when they fall asleep while nursing and look so content and peaceful. And my fraternal bg twins start looking so identical!
