I am so lazy about returning things that don't work out. Do you always make returns or exchanges?

That's pretty much how I shop-- I buy several choices from different stores, then decide at home and return everything else. It takes forever and many trips to get everything back to the stores. But I do it! Our car always has bags and receipts for a return somewhere.

Oh yeah. I buy and return all the time. I hate trying on so it's a lot of trial and error. I can't stand keeping things around that don't work, fit, etc. If it doesn't work out, it goes back immediately!

i return a lot but all online since i don't have a car. i buy most everything online so i hate stores like jcrew that charge an arm and a leg for shipping!

I almost never return things. In fact, I can think of at least 3 things in my house that are still in a box/bag with the receipt that I intended to return but never did. They are all more than a year old so I think that's a lost cause.... I don't know why I have an aversion to this - it's not like I live in a big city where it's hard to get to a store/mall and it's not like our stores are ever that busy. Oh well!

With clothes, I always make sure I can return them because I never try things on at the store. I HATE clothes shopping. I buy a bunch of things, bring it home, and decide.

@tina I shop the same way! A lot of times I can't decide in store/don't want to wait in line to try something on, so I'll buy anything that interests me, try everything on at home and then return what I don't want. I do that with online shopping, too. Buy a bunch of stuff, try it on at home and then return whatever didn't work out.

I've been not great at it in the past, but recently realized that I can save money! Now I return anything and everything. I've returned milk & blueberries to the grocery store because they weren't the quality I expected!

For myself, not so much anymore. I really have to try stuff on because things fit me so differently, like shirts are so short in my prepregnancy size!

I do most of the time but sometimes passable things will slip by. I'll think "Eeeeeh, it's ok...too lazy to return, ok I'll keep it."

Yeah, I'm terrible at it! I bought a baby lotion at Target and LO had a skin reaction to it. I didn't want to bother returning it since it was only $5 but DH got mad!

All.the.time.
I used to just kinda deal with what I got. But now I am always returning, exchanging or even calling the companies requesting replacement pieces. That's my new thing. It has been so much more effective than having to go to a store and hoping I can return/exchange with no hassles.

Yep. I don't want to waste my money. I do wind up waiting until the 90 day period is almost up though.

ALL. THE. TIME! It is mainly bc we do so much online shopping. The times when I actually venture to the store (or even the mall!), i have to look for things quickly and sometimes don't have the time to try it on. So i bring things home, evaluate, then return what I don't want/need. I do that almost immediately bc i don't want those large boxes in my itty bitty condo. Either you're in or you're out!
Thank goodness for sites like zappos, amazon, etc. They make it so easy for moms to shop.

All the time. I return just about anything that doesn't work. I also online shop a lot, and am an expert at repackaging. It just doesn't make sense to keep things around that don't work. Just a waste of money if you ask me.
But my husband is the worst! I have to bug him every day until he gets his stuff returned. We had almost $500 of extra wood that he purchased 2 weeks ago that was overage on a project he was working on at the house. I swear, the man would have let it sit until it was rotten and non returnable if I hadn't kept on him. And it was $500!

I never return things. I have friends that will buy things knowing that they'll just end up returning it. I just wouldn't buy it... and if I did I would donate it or give it away rather then return. That's why I don't shop online much.

For the most part my motto is "I can always return it" but I absolutely refuse to return anything to Hobby Lobby because they don't have scanners and have to manually key in everything and hunt up and down on the receipts, then call for a manager, then make a copy of the receipt. It's so annoying.
My husband use to never try clothes on and never return anything now he's a stickler about doing both.
