I make graham cracker crust but not the kind I need to roll out.
Do you make your own pie crust or do you buy them ready made?

Yep. I'm usually more excited about the pie crust than the filling, lol.

I made them for the first time over Thanksgiving. I was really nervous because I've heard that pie crust is really difficult to get right. They turned out great though!

Probably 50% of the time I do. It depends on my mood and the time I have. I think homemade tastes better but I feel like a lot of people don't even notice so I guess it depends on the crowd I'm baking for, too

Absolutely! I didn't always -- I was pretty intimidated for awhile, but once I tried it and saw how easy it is (especially with a food processor) and how good it tastes, I always do now!

Oh man, I think pie crust is the easiest thing ever - especially graham cracker! Buying your own is just throwing money away.

I was really excited to make my own for the first time for Thanksgiving. Then i got my first pregnancy migraine and was down for the count, so Pillsbury it was. DH even needed to help me peel the apples.
next time I make a pie I'm going to try a supposedly fool proof method from Serious Eats.

Yup! I love the crust! At Thanksgiving, my MIL made them gluten-free because she can't have gluten, which made me kind of sad. Now I feel I need to make a full gluten crust but that's kind of difficult with a 4 month old with a cold.

If I'm making a pie, I'm making homemade crust. Otherwise, no reason to maka a pie in my opinion. All the Thanksgiving pies where we went were homemade and the crust wasn't good. Now I really want pie! lol

I do, it's so easy! I use my grandma's recipe.
2 cups flour, 1/2 cup oil, 1/4 cup milk.
This is for the top and bottom so you half it if you only want the bottom crust. It's very scamp so you have to roll it super super thin, but it's very flaky and yummy. I don't believe in mixing with a spoon, it's much easier to just use your hands and make sure not to over mix.
