Scribble has been striking on and off for about a week. I thought it was due to my period, but that has come and gone. Now it seems due to teething, as he's started biting me rather hard. I have read not to offer a bottle during this time, but he has barely eaten all day long. I'm not offering solids though. What is your take on offering a bottle during a strike?

I went through this last week and didnt offer a bottle. Eventually he ate but was super fussy until the milk flowed then was ok. I think it was due to teething because he has been biting.

@MamaJ: my sympathies! Today has been ROUGH. I am offering a bottle but I think I may stop after this one I am currently pumping...

There were a couple times I gave a bottle but it was only an oz or two to get P calm if she was super fussy & then try & make the switch to the breast. For her bottle feeding just made her oppose the breast even more (she'd get lazy super fast).
What got us through nursing strikes were:
-Nursing to sleep & AS SOON as I would hear her stir (even at night before DH & I went to bed) I'd go & nurse her. She'd still be groggy so she would usually go with it.
-Reverse cycling! I think night nursing is there specifically for getting our supply through strikes, dips, and sickness! Our bodies even lay more prolactin triggers at night than during day time nursing!

LO wouldn't take a bottle, so we just gutted it out.

@Mrs. Sketchbook: he will be 6 months on Monday. Yes a few days last week were really really rough!! I mainly didn't offer a bottle because I didn't want to pump... So it was mostly out of laziness haha. It only lasted a few days though and only during the day. He was fine before bed and at wake ups. He is still biting a bit here and there. It stinks!!
