@dagret: I waited in line for like 8 hours--outside, in August, in New Orleans--to get it signed. Totally worth it. I hugged him. He's much taller that I imagined!

In middle school I went to a book signing event with Ann M. Martin, she of The Babysitters Club fame, ha. I have no idea where that book is now...probably sold at some garage sale for 25 cents.

We have the charm city cakes book signed by Duff and his brother. I got to go to the Q&A and meet them. It was pretty awesome.

John Green, Veronica Roth, Judy Blume, Mo Willems, Jon Sciezka, Eric Carle ....
Adult books...hmmm...off the top of my head, my favorites are signed copies of A Thousand Splendid Suns and the Kite Runner--Khaled Hosseini and Fahrenheit 451/Ray Bradbury.
I got them all at author dinners, except for the last two, which I actually waited in line for.

I have photo books that are signed. Patrick Demarchelier, Annie Lebovitz, Steve McCurry.
I also have four of five books signed by a Belgian author, Amélie Nothomb.
Deluxe by Dana Thomas (I was her daughter's nanny while she was writing the book).
@anagram: That is an awesome perk as a librarian! Living in NYC was great for book signings too.

my daughters each have one signed children's book so far... my eldest has one by Kristi Yamaguchi (Dream Big Little Pig) and my youngest has one by Ziggy Marley (I Love You Too).

I have too many to count. I love going to book signings of my favorite authors. I'm going to get Jennifer Perillo's Homemade with Love signed this month when she comes to Raleigh to talk about her cookbook.

@lamariniere: honestly....I have so many now that I totally don't appreciate them. I don't even know where they all are, and I started having the authors sign something vague without my name, so I could give them to friends and family!
Actually, that's what I enjoy most, I guess---I've given my nieces and nephews lots of signed children's books. And got my mom one from Judy Blume, which she loved. So spreading the author-signing love around is cool.
