I do a little. He's getting better at independent play but he still hates if I'm not *rightthere*. So if he's off in his own little tool bench world, I do a little surfing.

Sometimes, but he asks for it a lot to play his games.

I admit, guilty, but I"m trying to be more in the moment and present!

Guilty. I try not to do it too much but sometimes you need a mental break. I like to think I'm encouraging independent play.

Yep. If she doesn't want to play with me, I just hang out nearby and check my phone. Hence right now. She's in the tub doing her thing so I'm on HB

Yup, especially when she was younger. When I try to engage she gets mad and I can't sit there idly.

Yep, we have a pretty good balance of independent/interactive play and I tend to play on my iPad whilst she plays on her own. I do spend a lot of time reading on my kindle when she's around too, but I don't think she knows the difference between my iPad and the kindle yet.

Yep. Not on office work days. And dh and I put our phones on chargers most evenings. When I'm solo I do it more often than I like to admit!

Honestly, I don't. That being said, I don't have a lot of time with her so I try to keep my phone time to when she's napping or sleeping.
I try to leave it accessible for pictures, though! We have finally gotten to a point where, while she knows what my phone is, she thinks anytime I hold it up, I'm taking a picture.

Sometimes. She is getting really great at independent play in comparison to how she used to be but I feel guilty for fiddling around instead of completing chores or playing with her.

Oh gosh yes. I'm on mat leave right now, and don't have the TV on during the day. I can only play with an eight month old for so long. Besides, it's good for her to do some independant play.

I keep it close for pictures but I really try not to IG/HB/FB while I'm with them and they're awake.

I want to, but I generally don't because if LO catches me, then all she wants is my phone and it becomes a battle. I'd rather avoid that so I do my best to keep my phone out of sight! Obviously, I'm far from perfect, and when I can't resist, I just do my best to hide my usage from LO. Girl seems to have eyes everywhere though, haha.

Sometimes.
Usually after I drop DS off at preschool, DD and I come home, she eats a snack and has independent play. I'll turn on music for her too. During that time, I check my e-mail, call my mom and hellobee. She always asks to talk to nana and we'll read a few books together so she isn't entirely on her own. After that I try to ditch my phone for the rest of the day. If it's particularly hard day, sometimes I turn on Disney junior and hellobee. I feel guilty about it. I really try not to have extra phone time unless I'm desperate...but I'm only human and 14 hours of solo parenting a day (especially when it's been a week since DH has had a day off) can really wear a parent out.

Sometimes but if I do it during the main part of the day LO will ask for the phone. She makes me play by my own rules!
In the morning when we first get up or during bath time when she's winding down are the times I'm on my phone more often. And to be honest I don't feel guilty about it. I think all people, LOs included, benefit from some alone time (just not too much!)

Yes, sometimes. Now that he wants to cruise/stand all day, I'm not on my phone that much, because I'm too busy making sure he doesn't fall! But I definitely keep it nearby... it gets lonely during the week without anyone else to talk to. Especially when DH works long hours.
