I'll usually put grocery carts in the grocery cart return area, but today I was bad and left it by my car.
I felt so guilty! But I had my LO in the car and didn't wanna leave her to put it away.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I'm usually scared it will run into another car so I do.

I always do and sometimes I'll fix the ones that aren't shoved in nicely with the others. I feel badly for the people who have to go get them in the cold!

70% of the time? I normally try to, but I do admit that I am lazy about it sometimes

YES, this is a pet peeve of mine, especially in winter when parking is already reduced due to snow/ice/people who can't park. Drives me bonkers when people can't take 10 extra seconds to return their carts to the corral (although, I know its harder with kids in the car...)

I do. I hate it when I see an open spot and go to pull in and someone has left their cart in that spot!!
pomelo / 5820 posts
Yep! Too afraid of it hitting another car. I consider the extra walking good exercise!

I do it about 90% of the time. If I don't, I make sure it's not near any cars or can't have the ability to roll onto cars.

Always put them back and usually will bring in random ones that I spot b/c I would hate for them to hit my car or someone else's. I even say something to people if I catch them not putting the buggy back... not meanly, but I'll say something like - The return area is just over there!

I didn't before but now we basically only shop at walmart and since there are cart returns everywhere I feel stupid if I don't walk that couple of feet to put it back.

Always. I hate when people leave them by the cars and they end up dinging your car or taking up a parking space.

Always! It irks me when people can't be responsible enough to put away their shopping cart. I will walk all the way back to the store if I have to because it's the right thing to do.

Always! My car has been dinged from cart that wasn't returned!

I always put it away. I get so annoyed when I see someone leave theirs behind. I out the stray ones away too.

I always put mine away, and I have been known to confront people who don't.

depends on how close i am to the cart area. sometimes, there's only ONE! so i'd put it near my car....

I always used to but sometimes if my daughter is with me and the day is really sucking then I won't so I would totally understand why people with kids don't always put it away if they are having the shopping experience from hell.

Almost always, it annoys me that people don't (usually) put them away. The only time I can remember not putting it away was last weekend at Costco. I felt bad about it but I was just SO nauseous...Thank goodness the doc gave me meds for that today.

Always! If I'm alone with LO I park next to a corral so I can put her carrier on top and wheel the cart into the store rather than carrying it all the way. This also makes the return easier without having to leave her.

Always
@MsMini: I'm sort of embarrassed to admit that I've scolded people too. Glad I'm not the only one!

@owlmom: I used to let it go, but I would get so irritated about it that I had to start saying something ... DH is hilarious, if he sees someone getting into their car without putting their cart away, he pushes the cart to block their way out of the parking spot then gives them the evil grin (LOL). He is so passive aggressive!

About 90% of the time. Ever since LO arrived, I've been parking as close to a cart return as possible so that I wouldn't have to leave her alone for more than a few seconds (and even then, I'll lock the car up before I return the cart).
It's not as bad now that she's older since I can just return the cart with her in it and then carry her back to the car.
pomegranate / 3503 posts
@Red: I do the same. Even if I have to drive to a further cart return area, I'll take it there so that I can return the cart without leaving LO in the car for very long. And yes, I lock the car as well.

Yes. DH works for a grocery store, so I always feel bad if I don't. I always watch his coworkers have to push them back in and I know during bad weather it also prevents them from hitting cars.
