I posted about chapter books this morning (thank you for the wonderful suggestions), which got me to thinking: do you all read to your older kiddo in a chair or in their bed?
We recently started reading in her bed, but she's constantly putting her feet on the wall, messing with the blankets, or doing anything except focusing on the books. I'm more comfortable in her bed (because I'm approximately 528 months pregnant), but I wonder if a reading chair is a better idea for focus.

B is 3.5, and we read to him in bed now. I think we started when we switched to the toddler bed, but I can't remember why.

At night we read in bed, but during the day, it's mostly on the sofa or sitting on the floor.

We just moved my 3 year old into a bed this last weekend, and I thought we would do books and songs in bed, but so far she wants to do them in the chaise in her room rather than in bed.

Couch in the living room and then we go to the kids room! Used to be in bed but I found the couch more comfy. About to change back though because with the layout of our new house it'd be annoying to do on the couch. Really anywhere is good!

In the glider chair. There's no room in her bed, too full of books and animals. I think we'll have to get a second glider for baby #2, would hate to lose it from her room.

We read in our bed As dd is up in a loft bed now! In our bed with DS too, he's in a crib

In the living room. We had to cut out the reading in bed (we had previously done a chair in the nursery, but then we moved and he went to a full bed) because he was messing around too much.

DS1 (almost 4) loves reading in the glider, but I think it's too cramped so we've been reading in bed.

both! my SIL bought my son a tiny rocking chair, so we both sit in our own chair. or sometimes he sits in my lap on the chair or on the floor, and rarely he is in bed, even more rarely laying down in bed.

Both. We still have the glider in there but if she is really tired, we will read in the bed.

On the sofa when he was in the crib.
On his bed when we moved him to the twin bed.
Back to the sofa due to sleeping DD.
We may move back to the bed when I can read to both of them.

@PawPrints: OMG, do you remember when they were newborns and they couldn't have anything in the crib?? Haha. LO's bed has like 18 blankets and 90% of it is taken up by lovies and dolls now. 
@looch: We did the chair last night, and it was so much better. I thought the bed would be awesome, but yeah, too much messing around.

At night, we read on the floor, or I sit in his PBK Chair with him in my lap. Beds are for sleeping in our house.
