I love the convenience of my camera phone but I need to use my regular point and shoot and DSLR for better quality pictures!
How often do you use a regular camera? I only use it 1-2 times a month.

Yes! I almost never use a regular camera anymore, and I really should. The picture quality is much better.

Yes! We forget to take pictures with our nice DSLR all the time.

@pui: Do you just put it in your purse or do you carry a separate bag?

I almost always use my phone, I need to be better about using our camera and I'm hoping when I get my DSLR that I will take better pictures with that.

My phone doesn't have a good camera and I LOVE using my dSLR, so I mainly take pictures with that!
@autumnlove: I put my dSLR in my purse since I have a pretty large purse and it can easily fit all my stuff plus my camera and an extra lens. I'll also put it in my diaper bag!

Yep I really need to start keeping my camera charged and in my purse! I know it's less convenient but the pic quality is soo much better!

I use my DSLR regularly (in-home studio style portraits plus outdoor) and I"ve made a point of setting my point and shoot out and using it more around the house instead of my camera phone.
If you have a nicely lit room in your home, you can buy some wood vinyl flooring from Lowes and take photo on it that look very studio-like I also use a fluffy $20 rug to nicen the photos up

iPhone 5 has a good camera so I am happy enough with my pics!

@Andrea: I need to upgrade! I don't want the newest iphone...just the 5 with 64 GB!

Before my iPhone I took pictures exclusively with my DSLR. Since getting the iPhone 5 last year I mainly take pictures and videos on my phone. DH always has a camera strapped on his body so I don't feel so bad.

@autumnlove: yeah I am definitely getting more memory next time I upgrade!

We do the weekly bump pictures with a regular camera. But we've been relying more on our camera phones for other pictures because it's more convenient.

@autumnlove: I have a purse I bought from Etsy that has a camera protection liner in it! The purse is getting a little ratty now, but I could totally put the lining in to another purse (it's removable). I usually don't carry a second lens and just put my wallet and other little things in the second slot. There are also plenty of pockets and sleeves for my tablet and other things.

@pui: Thanks for the link-- i was wondering about how people put their good camera in a regular bag!
I do mainly use my iphone (a 4, so not the greatest) but the way I see it, I care the most about the memories of what she looks like right this very moment. I do want really nice photos, of course, but my main goal is to remember her right now and share with family who live far away, not have the best nicest photos every single day. I mean, talk to me in a year and I may have a different story, but right now I'm grateful for the quality my phone takes now.
I do want to leave my DSLR out more often, though, so encourage better pictures when I can.

I love DSLR pictures, but I'm too lazy to bring a big camera like that with me, so I got a really nice point and shoot that I always keep in my bag! I take almost all my photos of LO with that. The quality is nicer than when I forget to take it and need to use my phone camera.

never. so sad because i exclusively used a dslr for charlie's life. that was pre iphone though. it is too hard to use my dslr with two kids.

Wagon Sr. is always toting his DSLR. It's one of the reasons we got the camera we did-- it's very small and light for a DSLR. He got a small crumpler bag for it but he usually just slings it around his body messenger-style. But I just use my phone camera. The picture quality is awesome, especially in natural light!

Yes! I just printed out a bunch of pictures (both from my phone and camera) and the quality difference is clear. I really need to take out my regular camera more often!!!!

@pui: you use that bag on its own now, right? Not putting it into another bag? The liner part removes so tou could put it into a bigger bag if you needed more roo ? I think I see my Christmas request!

@Mrs. Taco: I just received some pics from Shutterfly and the difference is so obvious!

@Foodnerd81: Yep I use the bag on it's own! It has a liner in it that can be removed if you don't want to bring your camera one day, but I just always keep it in. And yes, you could put the liner in another bag if you want a different look or more space!
