For the most part, although as time goes on I'm forgetting some little details. I remember all the highlights for sure though

It was a planned c-section and I remember most of it, apart from the first words I said to LO. Noooo idea what they were.

When I was writing my birth story shortly after DS's birth I realized I couldn't remember a lot of the details like times and the order that things happened. I think I have a hard time remembering details because my labor was overnight (admitted late afternoon, DS was born via cs late morning the next day) and I didn't sleep more than a couple 30 minute stretches throughout the night.

I remember it pretty well, although some details were hazy immediately- like I thought we had skin to skin for an hour, Dh said 20 minutes? I wrote out her birth story shortly after so is remember. It felt like a blur even when it was happening.

For the most part

It's very fuzzy to me. I wrote it all down the morning after delivery because I was afraid this would happen. I read it now and I'm like "Oh yeah!!" Lol

Yes, my midwife wrote the birth story afterwards for me too so I have that to refer to if I need to!

Yeah, I do. But sometimes I wonder if my perceptions of what happened are slightly different than reality because of hormones and emotions.

I've never finished writing down my birth story and I'm sad because sure enough, 13 months later, it's getting fuzzy. Labor went on for a while, and my exhaustion meant I never had a firm timeline, I was hoping the doulas would have some notes to share, but they didn't, so I remember the big parts, but no longer the little details. Sad. It was honestly in the top happiest moments of my life!

I wish I didn't.

Up until I got the epidural (at 10cm and after pushing for an hour (I'm told)) everything is a blur. My memory goes wonky from the time my husband drove me into the hospital until the anaesthetist told me to rate my pain out of 10 and it dropped with every contraction...sweet relief! My husband has started to tell me some of the stuff I said to the midwives...yikes I was not nice to them.
From the point where my pain was relieved, I remember everything crystal clearly - including the operating theatre where I had my forceps delivery. I remember asking the doctor if it was a boy or a girl when I had only delivered the head, and everyone laughing at me. I remember my son shitting all over me during skin to skin. I remember looking into my husbands eyes and thinking "what the eff have we gotten ourselves into!?".

I think so. I just reminded DH of something the other day!

@ScarletBegonia: Mine is mostly a blur before the epi too! I think I was zoned out. I couldn't focus on much else but getting through contractions. Once the epi was in I was relaxed and aware like normal.
