I remembered quite a bit BUT it was all mixed up and I had NO concept of time! I would think things happened not long after another only to find it had been like 8 hours! I used my MW's notes to be able to organize my birth experience... without it my birthstory wouldn't have been anywhere near accurate! lol

Oh and congrats on your homebirth!!! I can't wait for our next! (well hoping it actually ends at home & not transferred. lol)

I remember a lot... but I had help piecing it together. I also wrote my birth story down 4 days after. My mom and hubby helped me remember specifics. Plus my hospital was awesome and wrote down detailed summaries every half hour.

I probably only remember because I wrote my birth story right away so that I wouldn't forget. I remember more how I felt than the actual facts of what went on. I'll never forget how elated and euphoric I felt at the end... it was amazing.

I actually do remember quite a bit from my labors (both unmedicated, the first at home, the second in a hospital). But I think it takes some time for your mind to process and bring things back to your conscious memory- does that make sense to anyone? Or maybe I just forget how much I forget, lol. I've never had anyone (other than myself) write my birth stories or detailed notes, but even just talking about the whole thing with someone who went through the experience with you can bring up a lot of memories and little details.
