I just started running. My trainer said my cardio need to be CARDIO not the elliptical fun I was used to doing. LOL!

I'm not running for 20mins straight on 7.0 like some others I see! I'm running for 3 mins at 4.5, then walking for 2 at 3.5. He said to do the bursts like that, just to make it harder I assume.

I'm hoping I can get to running for 20 mins before the summer is up. Heck, I never thought I'd be running for 3 mins straight without being tired.lol I almost tried 4 but didn't want to get froggy. I prefer the treadmill too. I did a 5k recently and I had shin splits! Maybe I need better shoes though.
