I share Mrs. Bee's Netflix account... it totally screws up her Netflix recommendations. Sorry honey! I wish there were a way we could both share an account, but only pay once.
Do you share your Netflix account with your SO? Does it ever impact how you watch or rate movies?

I share my Mr. Jazz's account, but he mostly orders the DVDs and I watch on instant. Our recommendations are usually cheesy romcoms and crazy action flicks, you can take a guess as to who prefers which type of film.

We share an account. We only use the instant streaming. We haven't had a problem with sharing.

I would never have considered paying for a separate account! haha. I watch more TV than SO so most of our recs are based off of my shows.

We share- as in I organize the queue and he tells me what he wants for DVDs and I take it into consideration. @mrbee: isn't there an option to have your own profile/account on Netflix?

I used to share with my dad since I set up his account. Then he changed his password on me, I guess he didn't like the same shows as me, heh. DH and I share, but DH doesn't really use it since nothing comes with Spanish subtitles.

I share with my DH, AND I use my own netflix account for work (I teach a middle school "Movie Themes" class. Since it's for educational purposes and not for public viewing, I think I'm covered copy-right-wise.
But I have to be REALLY careful to set up the movie to play and then pause it before the students come in--I don't want them seeing my "recommendations" that are R-rated movies. HAha. So netflix thinks I *really* like historical documentaries (that's what I use for work), action films (hubs), and artsy films (me!).

We share but don't have any issues. It's mostly just mine - Hubs tastes are included in mine - there's nothing he would be interested in watching that I wouldn't want to watch.

We share an account and we get 2 movies at a time but we have separate lists and ratings. We get one movie from each list at a time. So like right now I have MIB3 and he has the new Total Recall. When we watch MIB3 and send it back the next movie from my list comes to the house. we ditched streaming. But i dont think it costs any extra to have the 2 lists

Yes, I think it would be silly to pay twice for the same content! It does result in some interesting recommendations. My DH loves 80s cartoons, so we get a lot of "you should watch this awesome kid's cartoon from 2005!" and it cracks me up a bit

We don’t have Netflix (though we do have a whole separate streaming device as well as Amazon instant video) but I can’t understand why anyone would pay for two accounts. Just mutually decide what movies/shows you want to watch and add them.

Yep. We have it set up on the Playstation so it's easy for either of us to access. It never occurred to me to not do this...

We share! It's set up through our xbox. DH doesn't usually watch things without me so our recs are based on shows we watch together (White Collar, Lie To Me type shows) and things I watch alone while little baby is eating or sleeping on me (more Gossip Girl type things lol).

@.twist.: It's not a huge deal either way! If you share accounts though, the recommendations engine gets confused a bit... unless you have very similar tastes in TV shows and movies!

We share an account, but like yours, the recommendations are so nuts! I agree - I wish we could have our own areas under one account so I could get recommendations for me and mr.pearbee could get recommendations appropriate for him.

@mrbee: oh yea. I guess when I set it up I took into consideration both of our interests.
What messes our recs up more than anything is kids shows! I have to sift through cartoons galore just to get to adult stuff. 
I really wish the kids stuff would just stay in the kids netflix and not interfere with the adult netflix.
