Our friend is having a garage sale today. My mom took LO.... I'm hoping she comes back with some good stuff! This friend has very good taste and loves to shop, so I know she'll have cute clothes. She also has a 2 1/2 year old girl so I also know that she'll have some cute things for my LO.
I don't usually stop at garage sales unless I know that I need something.

@chopsuey119: Lol, I don't mind used. Especially when it's from someone I know. And especially when I know that this person probably wore the things once, if at all. She used to always clean out her closet and give my sister clothes with the tags still on.

I love garage/estate sales!
But only stuff that we can fix up not clothes. Like home decor stuff.

My aunt is the queen of garage sales, she just asked me if there is anything I wanted her to keep an eye out for. She owns a used high end home furniture store and is always in the nicer nieghborhoods looking for stuff! If she can find gently used stuff I'm all for it, she has amazing taste and a good eye!

I LOVED The Boxcar Children and Babysitter's Club as a child. I'm hoping to find the whole set cheap at garage sales for our daughter! I still have quite a few years till she's old enough for them!

I don’t go to garage sales a lot because I don’t have the time to, but I have gotten some great vintage books for super-cheap at garage sales and turned around and sold for a very decent profit online so I do like when that happens!
I have started keeping my eyes out for garage sales with lots of baby gear. I already got a brand new looking changing table/dresser and changnig pad for $100 (that retails for $499 and looks brand new, and over $100 for the pad), and $130+ worth of Avent bottles for $40 on craigslist. Used clothes don’t bother me – just wash them and they are the same as clothes that have never been worn before.

We don't garage sale really, but we DO consignment sales a few times a year. It's SUCH a great way to stock up on the next season of clothes for DD!

DH loves garage sales, estate sales and antique shows. He's always on the lookout for old toys and things to collect/sell. I've gotten a lot of our art by hanging out with him and purchased the majority of the Brownies in my old camera collection from garage sales.
@regberadaisy: I had the whole collection of The Boxcar Children, but I lent it to my cousin years ago. I should ask my aunt if she still has it.

love garage sales. I don't usually buy things there unless I absolutely want it but I love to browse and its something to do on a saturday morning!! I'm actually hitting up an event called "The mother of all garage sales" this weekend!

Yep, I love them! If I wasn't Team Green I would have gotten Baby Bear a TON of little boots and shoes at one we went to last year. I still get sad about those little boots.LOL
I like to go to certain neighborhoods to find stuff...i.e. the ones with the good stuff!LOL

@regberadaisy: I definitely have seen books from both of those series! You have plenty of time to find them too Right now besides old books we have been trying to collect all the different Dr.Seuss books for our baby girl! We have found some pretty old ones which is just so awesome! Also, I keep finding ones I've never even heard of which is pretty neat too! We've gotten many of her books from garage sales as well

I am too picky for garage sales especially with clothing.
I do like stuff that can be stripped, like dressers and buffets. Those are okay because I can usually see the potential.
