We won't get as much back this year since its the first year we're not students, but we have a child this year!!
Last year we saved half and used the rest to visit family.
This year we're going to get a new couch since ours have given me back pain since I got pregnant and had my son.. If there is anything leftove we'll save.

We never get a refund. Womp womp marriage penalty and high tax brackets. 
If we did get one, we would either save it or throw it at our mortgage if it was a considerable amount. If it was a couple hundred bucks we would probably blow it on a nice dinner out!

It varies from year to year... one year part of it was my engagement ring, another year went to the wedding/honeymoon, the next a cruise, and this past year we maxed out our retirement since I wasn't working much for the first part of the year. We make the retirement a priority, then use whatever is left over for a bit of fun.

We don't get much of a tax return on purpose, bc I can save money throughout the year on my own without giving the federal government an interest-free loan...but we generally save half of it and splurge with the other half.

In theory I would save but since having kids there is always something we put it toward.. New car, new house etc. I'm looking forward to saving it.. Maybe this yr!

Last year we saved it but then ended up having to spend it to move, this year we are using it to pay off the rest of DH's debt and save some so we can put it into savings so we can feel comfortable getting a house.

We usually spend, but it goes towards specific things we've been saving for. For example... 2 years ago my then BF got his and used it for my engagement ring. Last year combined we used it for our wedding. This year we will use it to put down on our mortgage.

When we rented and had no kids, we always owed a ton of tax $ so I HATED tax season. But now that we have a mortgage, 2 kids and increased our tax contributions through work, we get some money back! Woohoo! We usually save it but sometimes we'll treat ourselves to something nice, like a short trip or spa day.

Usually just put in savings till it is vacation time or we have a big purchase, couch, tv, etc to make.

Never get money back. But, if we did I'd put it into our mortgage probably. We'd like to pay off our home since we are looking to sell it in the next 10 years and we got it for an awesomely low price....so we will pretty much make back 100% of what we put in;) !

In the past we've used it to pay down student debt, but now that it is all gone (woot!!!) we'll put some on the mortgage, some into savings and some for funsies!!

Hahaha! I haven't seen a Tax Return since we got married! DH calls it "The Marriage Penalty". Uncle Sam keeps everything usually and half the time, wants more! argh!

Last year we spent it on my midwifery care. This year we'll do both. Spend (paying off debt) & Save (Dave Ramsey babystep #1.... Or what's left that we haven't saved).

I have no idea how much we'll get back. If it's a good amount we'll pay off credit card debt. If its a few hundred we'll just spend it probably

We set our things up throughout the year in a way that allows us to get a nice tax return. And we always put it in the savings. The end/beginning of the new year is so expensive with property taxes, holidays, and yearly insurance premiums, so we like to build our stash back up after all that.

Unfortunately we don't get very much back, use to when I was single and had my son. It was so awesome to get close to $6000 back, I'd save and spend. Now it's nowhere near that, not even half, lovely marriage penalty and higher taxes. We'll be lucky to not owe.

In theory we'll save ours, but that'll be right around the time LO is born so it may go to hospital bills--I have no idea what to expect there!

@StbHisMrs: my mom used to bug us to get married because she said it would help our taxes - big fat HAHAHA to that! not even close! DH works mostly on 1099s so what I used to get as a return, now is used to pay what he owes. you're welcome, honey.
We usually save just about all of it. Last year DH gave me a bit to go shopping.

What is a tax refund?
JK - I haven't gotten one since I worked retail during college. I'm taxed 40%! If I do happen to get one this year due to being a homeowner it will be very small but we'll just add it to our savings.

I just toss it in an account and treat it as normal income. We dont really specifically take it and splurge on anything.

It varies, but we save some, then usually go on vacation with the rest. We bought a house about a year ago, though, so this year's refund was used on house repairs.

Last year we owed and I suspect we will again this year. If we do by some miracle get anything back it will all go to debt.
