No scrunchies anymore! LOL, I haven't said "scrunchie" in a million years.

Ha ha, love this! No but I wish I had, they would be fab for keeping long hair away from baby fists.

Definitely! And now the word "scrunchie" reminds me of the sex and the city episode when Carrie pisses off Berger saying no one wears scrunchies anymore. Anyone else? Or is that just me? Haha
Eta: I read this as "did you" -- I no longer own any scrunchies, lol. Putting down my wineglass now

@MrsSCB: Bahahaha! I always think of that episode too!
Scrunchies are banned from our house. Black hair ties for me. I did however sport em growing up!

No but I wish scrunchies would come back. I used to have a sheer black one with pearls floating around in there. So glam! Lol

Oh gosh, embarrassing... yes, but I only wear them to bed, and NEVER out of the house.
@MrsSCB: I totally think of SATC!
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
@JerricaBenton: I had the same! We were hot stuff.
@MrsSCB: first thing I thought of was SATC
I don't, but my mom still wears them consistently. And she has short hair, so 3/4 of her pony tail is scrunchie. It's tragic.

@photojane: oh definitely! When I wore that scrunchie I felt soooo cool. Was it from express or the limited or something?
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
@JerricaBenton: I have no idea! My "cool aunt" gave it to me... haha!
pomegranate / 3204 posts
No! I haven't had one in forever. I know a lady who still wears one though!

I just use black hair ties now too, but I still have scrunchies that match my old skating outfits. They were a must for competing lol.

I wish I had one for bedtime! My hair always snags on the black bands.

Not any more!
@MrsSCB: ha! I was going to reference this episode of SITC too! I. The end they locate a woman with a scrunchie in her hair whom they approach. Of course, she speaks with a horrible Southern drawl because only a backwards Southerner would still wear such a thing! Memorable to me because I'm from the south

@MrsSCB: that episode is the first thing I thought of when I saw this post!!
bananas / 9973 posts
Sadly, yes! I actually took one from my mom over a year ago when my hair got to be almost butt-length! It's easier on the hair to put in a bun to sleep at night and not get tangled or dented like rubber bands do. I saw some last year at forever21 so I picked up a couple spares. Never wear them out of the house though!
But yeah I always feel like the bigger fashion faux pas like @MrsSCB: mentions about the SATC episode!
@travelgirl1: it totally is great for quick getting hair out of fave for baby feelings!
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
Definitely not! I see them in Target on the hair aisle and smile:). It always makes me think of thatSex and the City episode where Carrie sees a woman at a bar with a scrunchie in her hair and pretty much dogs her out!
honeydew / 7235 posts
haha... no!
in middle school though you HAD to have a scrunchie on your wrist - the 100% silk ones from (i think) lerner or ny & co, something like that...
now I just always have a tiny black elastic to put my hair back in.

@PrincessBaby: i LOVE that episode & Berger gets pissed because he put that in his book & Carrie is right that it's not a NY woman in that bar. great episode!
