I gotta be honest, my girls are 3.5 and 14 months and the pain *during* labor has long been forgotten. But I still remember the pain of the contractions leading up to it! I remember it being 1 in the morning and walking around my bedroom. Needing to stop to breathe and hold on to my dresser. That was the point when I felt like we needed to go. 
With my second I was induced and oof, it was fast and furious. I just remember making a lot of scary animal noises.

Maybe it's amnesia, or the fact that I had an epi, but I don't think actual childbirth hurt? haha! Contractions on pitocin did for sure...but I don't remember pushing hurting at all

@nana87: haha yes! With my first I had too much epi that pushing failed. With my second, I felt like the contractions of needing to push is what made me scream. That probably drowned the pain of pushing out.
FYI I did tear and she had a big head.

Oh I remember. With my second I got an epidural but it didn't happen until an hour before I pushed. I was that woman screaming obscenities before I got it.

I thought the pain of my first labor was horrible but that was an induction with pit, back labor and no epidural. Took me a while to forget how much it hurt.
Second labor was all natural and I found it so much easier without pit, getting through the contractions was much easier because I had a break between them and they wern't as intense. Pushing wasn't painful either time though and both times I was done pushing in 10 minutes. I was very lucky with my birth experiences.
I forgot the contraction pain instantly after lo2 was born.

Nope. I remember thinking at the time that it was without a doubt the worst pain of my life, but I don't actually remember what contraction or delivery really felt like. I forgot pretty much immediately. And I had a med free birth. Hormones be crazy. I do remember what the urge to push felt like and sort of what the "ring of fire" felt like, but not how badly it hurt.
I'll find out soon enough-5.5 weeks until LO2 is due.

DD is only 3.5 weeks so I still remember what contractions felt like! But I also had amazing epidural so all in all labor was really not bad!

after DD1, i really didn't think labor and delivery was all that bad. it was quick (less than 7 hours from water breaking to her birth) but there was only 1 point where i was really freaking out and then it passed.
with DD2 (only 10 days old), it was so fast and crazy that i never felt in control and even though pushing was 5 minutes, it was a pain i've never felt. i was doing everything in my power to fight against it, so much so that DH and the nurses were like, open your legs, you're doing it! she's here. i thought they were lying. ha.

I really don't. I'm 36 weeks with #2 and I worry I won't know when I'm in real labor even though this isn't my first!

Nope. For a month after I remember thinking, ok, would I do it again for a million dollars? Nope. How about an hour of it? Nope. Not for a second. Now, three months out, I'm not so sure, so the memory must be fading. I had some pretty bad pain with a failed epidural and max pitocin, but it was nothing compared to natural birth. NOTHING.

Contractions hurt very badly, back labor sucks! But I only remember it abstractly, not physically. And I must be nuts because I didn't think pushing hurt! It was uncomfortable and weird yes, but I don't associate any pain with it! Must be as @nana87: said, it's amnesia.

I have forgotten #1, but even at 18 months, the pain of #2 can be recalled easily to my mind. I felt like I was splitting in half, not a feeling I like to think about.
That said, the relief of having them out was AMAZING, and I can recall that very easily when I think about both births. I went from being an absolutely miserable preggo to feeling like a normal human the second they were out.

Oh heck yes. It's been 3.5 years and I don't think I'll ever forget. Everyone told me I would. I still remember thinking I was literally dying and pretty much wishing I was.

Of course I remember that it was very intense and painful, and I remember how I described the pain while I was going through it (that contractions felt like a big, fiery squeeze), but it's hard to recall that pain today. I was in such a state, a bit out of my mind just dealing with the labor. At the time I was saying to myself "Never again!" But omg now I would do it again in a heartbeat. I keep saying to DH "it couldn't have been that bad, right!?"

It was rough, but knowing I can get an epi makes a difference! Got a low dose at the last minute and it was heavenly. Honestly, severe morning sickness for months is the most physically miserable I have ever been. 17 hours labor... vs. months of misery.

I remember how much it hurt but not exactly what it felt like. I forgot pretty much right away what the actual contractions and pushing felt like. I had a med free, fast and intense labor (7 hours start to finish), and it was without a doubt the most pain I've ever been in. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The great thing about pain for me is that I can have the memory of it, but it's not really like experienci g it. I remember THAT it hurt, but the memory itself is not painful.

Not really!! LO 2 is 5 weeks old and I feel like I can't remember the pain. Granted, I had an epi, but even leading up, I remember the shaking. With both as soon as the contractions got bad me whole body started shaking. And with LO 2 it lasted until about 4/5 hrs after he was born.

Oh yes. My last birth was unmedicated (not by choice) and the pain was horrific. Good thing we are done because I can't ever do that again!

I do, especially the unmedicated one, but the pain wasn't so bad that I wouldn't do it again. However, our family is complete and the baby factory is closed.

I have permanent nerve damage from the episiotomy that sends random nerve-y pain down my legs and I have no feeling between my big toe and second toe, lol. Lifelong reminders.

Nope 2 induced but natural births and I do not remember it, birth amnesia is real. Although I never really felt like it was horrific or anything so maybe that is why, I was more amazed my body could do it twice!

With my first, I could remember exactly what the pain felt like for about a year after birth and then it slowly faded away. After this one (not even 3 weeks ago), I can remember that it hurt but I can't really remember exactly what it felt like anymore. It's so strange to me that the exact memory went away so quickly this time.

I can remember the terror, the convulsions - and the shock, afterwards - but the pain has long gone from my memory. I *know* it was the worst pain I have ever experienced (pit with only gas-and-air).....

I don't remember EXACTLY how it hurt. I remember being intensely tired. I remember crying because I thought I couldn't do it anymore. I remember begging the doctor to let me push when he got stuck in the "ring of fire" between contractions. I remember remarking to my husband at one point that I felt like I got hit by a truck at mile 25 of a marathon. I know all of that was a result of the pain from 3 hours of pushing. But I could not really tell you what that pain felt like.

I remember the notion that it was the worst pain of my life. But don't remember the pain. Esp with this last labor, it was so fast that I can't hardly recall the actual pain, versus the shock that I actually went through it medfree.
