Ever since I started working (9 years) DH and I have been taking half days on each others birthdays.
Today is his birthday and we didn't. I feel so badly and missing him like crazy!
Usually we would go out to lunch then do whatever the birthday gal or guy wanted.
3 more hours!

we usually don't. haven't unless we have a vacation planned (which we used to do a lot around bdays). Friday is DH's birthday and I WFH... he'll be getting home a couple of hours early!

I try to have something fun delivered to his office though. I really want to have a barbershop quartet sing happy birthday to him, but one of us would die {he would either kill me or die from embarrassment}.

DH's birthday is almost always on or near Thanksgiving, so we are off together anyway. We don't usually take time off for my birthday though because its at the very beginning of the school year and we are both teachers.

Not for mine, but the hubs is born on the 4th of July, so the whole country celebrates with him!

Well I'm a SAHM so no. DH hasn't take off for mine, although he did take off for our anniversary and the day after (so it would be a 4 day weekend), and he's planning on taking off on my birthday next year since this year he ended up having to work late and didn't get home until around midnight.

@locavore_mama: It's my husband's birthday today too! I did not take the day off, and he didn't take mine off last week either. We sometimes try to grab lunch together, though. Today I have a doctor appointment so my husband is leaving work a little early to meet up with me for it.

I've never taken time off for his (or he mine) but I used to take my birthday off...until I had a baby. Now my birthday doesn't mean as much to me! I'd rather take hers off.

I usually don't, however this year I did but it wasn't for a good reason. We had a treefall on our power lines the night before and we were trying to get that taken care of.

Nope, never. DH doesn't like celebrating his birthday. (Unless we're going to a hockey game or something.) He doesn't like to make a big deal out of it.
I've taken the day off for my birthday to get my hair done or go shopping and have a 'me' day though, lol
And I take DS's birthday off.

No never...my birthday is in the summer though so I'm always off (I'm a teacher) but DH works. We both work on his birthday in the spring.

No. This year was the first year we actually had an evening together on DH's birthday. He's not a fan of birthdays, but he does try and take time to spend with me on mine.

I'm taking off for mine this year, he will be off anyway. We usually go on vacation around his bday.
I'm making it a point to always take off on LOs bday! Luckily it will fall on a holiday a lot of the time!

Same as @lilteacherbee my DH is a Thanksgiving baby (on or about usually) so we tend to be home together.
We have never taken the day off for mine, but in the past I had finals or its been on the weekend since we've been together. Maybe when it ticks back to being on a weekday I will make us take the day off!

Usually work on birthdays. I had very little vacation when I was working, and DH only has 10 days.
