We have reached a point where we are going to take our daughter shopping to let her pick out her own clothes. We are hoping this will help alleviate some of the battles that we have been experiencing recently with clothes. This weekend she picked out two new pairs of shoes and tonight we are taking her shopping for shorts/tee shirts for school. I prefer to shop online/buy used but during this phase, we are going to buy in store, I guess. Ugh.

I voted no, but my son is almost 3, and he hates shopping! He'll start yelling if I even try to bring him inside a clothes store. I don't mind picking his clothes out myself, and he's pretty good about wearing what I pick out for him.

I have never taken my 7 yr old to shop in a store - I usually pull up a site and said do you like any of these?
Yesterday I went to Kohls and he came with me and I let him pick out some stuff - whoa! He picked out stuff I would have never picked on my own! I will def take him with me from now on!
DD has been to Target with me and she wanted EVERYTHING

Not really, but we did let him pick out his own shoes last weekend (out of 3 pre-selected pairs).

I've started letting my older LO pick things. My younger one will still love anything as long as it's pink.

Yes I do, almost all of the time. She is really picky about her wardrobe, even at 2.5.

Yes, I do, because she is very picky. Although sometimes we end up in situations like yesterday where we walked out of Macys with a pink tutu Minnie Mouse outfit and I wonder if it's really the right call to bring her along.

My almost 5 year old isn't too picky. If he's with me and I'm buying things for him I usually give him options. He loves shopping, so if I let him pick whatever he wanted he would buy one of everything lol.

Nope. But he's 2 and doesn't care what he wears as long as it's comfy.

@mediagirl: no, but that's because the grandmas buy most of his clothes. Right now he has 3 pairs of pants, 2 shirts, 3 PJs and a jacket that I bought him. Everything else is from grandmas. And all his shoes--he does pick out his own shoes (with approval for fit/safety by me, of course) I buy.
He didn't shop with me for the pants because when we are out "I hate pants" and for shirts, I just buy cute shirts with space stuff on it. When grandmas cool down on the clothes buying, I will take him with me... probably. He helped with the jacket since it was at the shoe store.
