I used to LOVE Dimetapp's grape flavor!

I think they are all repulsive! I was overjoyed as a kid when I was finally allowed to swallow medication!

I only tolerate the cherry flavors of stuff. I hated Dimetapp as a kid. And Triaminic made this horrible banana flavored cough medicine we used to have to take when we had bronchitis (every winter). My mom used to have to pin each of us down between her knees and force feed it to us because it was so foul tasting. I wasn't usually a fighter about meds but I fought that stuff every. single. time. It was nightmare inducing.

Wonder why they have to make medicine "taste" at all? All that fake flavoring and dyes can't be good for the wee ones.

I avoid cherry and bubblegum flavored medicine. They taste awful. Grape does taste better. I had my LO's antibiotics flavored at Walgreens because my pharmacy doesn't offer medication flavoring. My LO didn't fight me as much. Don't pick your own flavor. Ask them what the recommended flavors are. I don't know if they can flavor over the counter medications, but all they need is the NDC (national drug code) on the bottle to find out if they can or cannot. I highly recommend flavoring if you have to give multiple doses per day.

I always wondered why they flavor it. My 7 month old doesn't know what "cherry" flavor is....

DS only willingly takes medications that are dye free and grape flavored. Luckily a lot come that way.

@Cole: Ditto! Being able to swallow meds was such a chdhood highlight! No more nasty liquid amoxicillin for me haha

@LaineysMom: It's mint flavored?!? DS's Zantac always just tasted like straight up alcohol to me.

I buy the Target brand and dye free grape sounds good!
