Sometimes, I think I am too baby centric and I purposely avoid talking about my LO with some of my friends. Do you ever feel this way?

Yah I definitely do this all the time! One challenge I run into though is that I don't have as much going on now that we have kids...

I definitely try to curb the baby talk (my LO is 5 months) but, like @mrbee said, I find I don't have as much going on so I don't have much else to talk about. I'm out of the conversation if it's about restaurants, movies, or pretty much anything you do after 5pm.

I'm lucky to have quite a few pregnant friends, so when I can tell my "regular" friends are sick of hearing about my pregnancy/baby then I call them up and they are willing to talk about it!

YES, but I'm not really apologetic about it! We try to be conscious of it when we're around couples who are not TTC or currently pregnant or already parents... but we mostly hang around people who are just as baby/toddler centric as we are. The few unmarried or pre-kid friends we have are really obsessed with Wagon Jr. and love talking about him and hearing about him.
Everyone else kind of fell away on their own I don't blame them! And I know they'll be back once they're on this road we're on!
Life stages come and go but eventually everyone settles into adulthood together. Wagon Sr. and I got married so early, we learned this lesson very early when we thought we lost all of our single friends because we were married. One by one they are all coming back.

I try pretty hard not to be one of those people who can only talk about kid things! It annoys me when people are like that so I try to always talk about a variety of topics.

I try to talk about non-baby/toddler things but with other fellow mamas, that's all we end up talking about! I definitely try to not bring it up with non-moms though. I'd be pretty annoyed by it (if I didn't have kids) so I'm sure they would be too.

Yes, I could talk about LO all day long, but I hold back with people that don't have kids. In the back of my head I always have other things I can talk about: food/restaurants, movies (only if they've come out on dvd otherwise I haven't seen them), travel (we still travel a lot even with LO). But I love getting together with other moms, then we can talk about the kiddos the whole time!

I never talk about LO unless someone asks something specific. Also, sometimes I get a little peeved when people only ask about LO and not about what else is going on in my life. I'm still alive and kicking, too, you know!
