My regular hair stylist opened up her own salon and my appointment is on Saturday. Do I still tip her?

Oh interesting, I never tip the owner, even when they do my hair. They usually have a higher rate for services than the other stylists. I thought that was convention, but I guess not!

I've heard if the owner does your hair, there's no need to tip them. Though, to be honest, I probably still would. I just think I'd feel weird about not tipping for some reason.

I tip whoever touches my hair. My girl went out on her own and rents a space with another girl. I always tip her- she's a small business owner, I far prefer that to a large business!

Technically, no, because the owner gets all the proceeds from the salon (as opposed to being on a salary or hourly basis). You're not supposed to tip the owner of any business. That being said, I always do.
