Last Christmas I realized just how many UPS/Fedex deliveries we were getting, especially with the new home. And we're lucky to get some great service! Our mailman is old school; when I have too much mail he rings my doorbell and actually waits for me to come to the door or he will bundle it up and hide it where no one can see it from the street. So I tipped but could have done better. This year I'll plan ahead and do it earlier in the season!

I haven't ever done this but my mom used to tip our mailman with a box of See's candy!

@krsmall: I've heard $25-50 for UPS/Fedex. Last year I did a GC in the lower range because $50 just seemed inappropriate for this neighborhood, but I could see how maybe where I used to live (in a city, where they always had to double park) maybe I should have done more.

I have never done this, but I do feel bad for our UPS guy because we get so many deliveries thanks to my amazon obsession.

I knew they weren't supposed to accept cash, and thought they could take anything else worth less than $20. We always leave our mailman a $20 movie theater gift card. I don't leave anything for the UPS/FedEx cuz I never really know when or where to leave it.

I never have, but we use a P.O. Box for U.S. mail. If it's UPS/FedEx, it goes to DH's parents' house (and I guarantee they don't tip).

My mom always gave the mailman a nice bottle of wine. But he was really nice and went out of his way to take care of our stuff. I don't tip our mailman because he's a kind of creepy old dude who always has a big cigar hanging out of his mouth and so far hasn't done anything to warrant a tip in my opinion.

Nope, never. We always get different mailmen and different delivery folks.

Nope. I couldn't even tell you what time the mail comes in apartment complex, let alone who the mailperson is.
