I've noticed that I use "we" a lot. When talking in real life, responding to HB posts, or emailing firends/family, I often speak in the plural, I guess referring to myself and my husband. Is that weird? Lately I've been trying to talk more in the singular first person, but it just feels weird.
(For example, I just wrote this whole post in "we"s and then replaced them with "I"s after rereading it.)

I do the same thing and always catch myself saying "we" (referring to me and DH.) I just do it without thinking

It totally depends on the situation and whether or not I feel qualified to speak for my husband on that particular subject. But I will say I never use "we" when talking about my pregnancy. "We" are not pregnant... I am! : )

I'm a "we-er". People thought it was really weird when I referred to "us" being pregnant... But I really feel that Mr. Jacks went through it too. Maybe the sign of the closeness of our relationships with our partners?

@Mrs. Jacks: "We" were also pregnant! I know some people hate that, but it was important to me to acknowledge my husband's role in our pregnancies.

@Honeybee: I don't really get why people hate that so much. I was so sick and Mr. Jacks did everything for our family, from cooking to cleaning to feeding the dog. I would have wasted away without him!

@Mrs. Jacks: ...and encouraging us to eat even when we were miserably sick and cried at the very thought of food... Maybe it has something to do with our difficult pregnancies? Our partners were very involved, but I know a lot of women don't necessarily need that level of involvement from their SOs.

I almost always say I, and I am trying to break myself of the habit, especially for certain things that should be plural. For example, I always say my apartment, when it should be referred to as ours.

I'm definitely a we-er too. If it was something I didn't do alone I generally say "we did this" or "we went here," etc. I also realized the other day I've started to say "when we get pregnant", which I find kind of funny because I used to just think off it as the woman getting pregnant since she the one's carrying the baby.

It depends. When making plans or discussing pregnancy, I tend to say "we" but other conversations are "I." Sometimes my "we" refers to Little Girl and myself though. For instance, Hubs can ask how I'm feeling and I'll tell him that "we've had a rough day because LO is bouncing on my bladder" or whatever.

I caught myself the other day. My husband asked when we were going to turn LO around forward facing in the car seat. I told him that "we" we were going to wait as long as possible, hopefully at least past 2 (AAP recommendation). I didn't even think about using the term "we" even though I don't think he was in agreement with the decision.
