Always, because the ones that are free are super small and you have to pay for the larger ones. At first I thought it was inconvenient, but now that I've gotten used to it, I think it is the smart choice. I wish they'd do it in all supermarkets and shops in the US.

I also keep one in the under carriage of the stroller...just in case!

I always use them. Sometimes I don't if I want some plastic or paper bags to reuse around the house so those times are exceptions.

@mediagirl: I always bag meat in plastic before putting them into my grocery bags. I guess it's wasteful of plastic bags but it's worth it not to contaminate anything else.

We don't because we need plastic bags for poop bags for the dog.

My mom has a ton and keeps them in her car so they're always with her.

We use them, in Canada you have to pay for plastic bags at every grocery store and even some big box shopping stores too. We keep a few in the trunk all the times too, otherwise we would never remember them!

I almost always do unless it is an unexpected stop and they bags are at home. I got mine from Trader Joe's - they were $.99 each and in spite of being so inexpensive are very sturdy!

I do! I keep a couple of them in each of my purses, so I always have some on hand. Some of the towns in our area have stopped offering any free bags at the store, so you are pretty much forced to bring your own. I recommend the bags that fold up really tiny, like these:

Usually, the grocery store by my house doesn't require them, but a lot of the other stores I go to require them since something passed in their city at the beginning of the year.

I've gotten tons of them as gifts from vendors, so we haven't had to buy them. I try to keep them in my car and I usually use them when I shop. Hubby usually doesn't, though. I also don't use them always when it's a HUGE shopping trip at the grocery store, because them I'm using the regular check-out lines and it's a pain when the employees bag with my reusable. But since I usually shop once a week, it's a pretty small load, so I self-check-out, and use my reusable bags.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah I love not having to pay for plastic bags. And I figure I'm still putting them to good use so I don't feel so bad getting them.
