I don't sort anything - everything gets washed together!

Except when I buy something new that's dark... then I do a separate load of jeans + the new dark clothing, just in case

@swurlygurl: exactly this! 85% of my wardrobe is stripes.

Colors, Whites are strickly for solid whites!

With colors

with light colors. We sort our clothing this way:

light--pale blues, pale yellows, stripes and wash on COLD
colored---wash on cold
whites--wash on hot
Also, I try to wash sweaters separately from anything because they fuzz onto other clothing and makes them discolored looking. Example: DH's dark gray North Face jacket just pilled onto his red shirt and now it looks purple Needs another wash.

I sort my clothes into Whites, Dark colors, light colored, jeans and towels. So I would wash stripes in lights load.

DH and I always have a mini-argument (half joking) when we wash light gray colored clothing. He considers gray a dark color and I consider it a light color. (If I was washing a dark gray shirt, it would definitely go into the darks pile.) He's an artist, so his perception of colors is off from mine. He starts talking about how the gray is a cool or a warm gray.
