We throw out a lot of produce...
I just tossed out cilantro that I used for enchiladas and Italian parsley that I used for linguine and clams. I wish I could just buy the portion that I need!

I am a terrible herb waster. I often just omit it or sub dried because wilted, two-week-old parsley makes me sad!

Not at all. We hardly waste anything. I used to be a lot more wasteful when I lived on my own but my husband despises waste, so things get eaten most of the time!

The worst is when you cook it for the kids but they don't eat any! So wasteful...

Yes! We really need to plan our meals better. The problem is we always eat what we feel like eating opposed to what needs to be used

No we don't! I am such a nazi about this! I carefully plan what we eat and nearly all the fruit gets eaten, save a rogue banana here and there (which I tend to freeze and save for banana bread). I hate hate hate wasting food
For cilantro, dice it up and put it into ice cube trays with water

@autumnlove: have you ever frozen cilantro?? I put it in ice cubes then thaw for recipes.
I usually freeze anything that's about to go bad amd use it for smoothies or soup. We very rarely waste or pitch food- if I'm going to spend extra for organic I want to make sure it gets eaten up!

Sadly yes! I buy stuff then we end up going out or something and it goes bad.

We try desperately not to, but there will always be a bag of parsley or some potatoes at the back of the fridge drawer that get overlooked. We *should* just cook them up and save them for another meal ... but we don't. I think I could do with more work on planning meals, too.

Yeah, unfortunately. DH doesn't really like to eat leftovers, but it's hard to cook for just two people. I try to take leftovers to work for lunch, but that doesn't always work out.

Yes, I hate it but dh doesn't like leftovers or freezer food so its hard. I have an herb garden so I don't have to worry about wasting herbs, just snip off what I need.
