A close friend of mine got a bad kidney infection recently where she was hospitalized for almost a week! And the doctor told her it was because she probably got feces in her urinary tract because she wipes BACK to FRONT so she was basically pushing her poop into her urinary tract.
I always wiped front to back and never realized that some women wipe the other way.
Which way do you wipe?

I dab lol ever since having my LO it's become habit. I did back to front, but never THAT far back

I wipe back to front but I maintain a distinct barrier in between each section lol. Each part is individually wiped to avoid "contamination"

I wipe front to back BUT I reach around from the back (so I'm pulling backwards rather than pushing backwards) and one of my friends IRL thought that was nuts...
Do you guys push from the front to the back or reach around and pull??? (lol - I don't know how else to word that)

@navy-mommy: OMG I never really sat here and thought about my wiping process. But now that I think about it, I think I actually wipe/dab the front, then I either use the same TP or new TP to do the back. LOL

Also, i was warned all over the place--by OB/GYNs when I first went, but my OB clinic and baby class at the hospital, etc, to ONLY wipe front to back.

I'm like @Beyond2, and wipe from whoo-ha to urethra, and then reach around for the back. Making sure to keep a distinct barrier between sections!

I actually did back to front for the majority of my youth until I figured out it was wrong. It just made more sense to reach back and pull forward. After a series of UTIs I figured it out and changed it but it took some doing to re-train myself. Now I push back.
ETA: My 3yo went potty in the toilet the other day for the first time and when we went to wipe she wanted to do it herself so I handed her the TP. She automatically went to wipe back to front. I thought that was interesting.

i thought EVERYONE wiped front to back. I actually wipe front first and then back with regular toilet paper and then wipe again with cottonelle wet wipes.
