First off, I am very grateful that (so far) E has a fantastic appetite. He always cleans his bowl out (usually by licking it), has tried a decent variety of foods of varying levels of spiciness (he's eaten some things that are almost too spicy for me with no problem) and has yet to turn anything down.

(Short answer: we struggle with sleep, not feeding).

But in the back of my mind I'm a little bit worried that he's eating too much. When we were at the beach this weekend one morning he ate: 2 pieces of toast, 2 Eggo waffles, and 2 scrambled eggs. After he had nursed for half an hour. (DH and MIL fed him). Another morning he had 3 eggs and 2 pieces of toast.

For lunches he can eat a sandwich, a banana and a piece of string cheese. For dinner he usually eats an entire bowl of whatever I've made (last night it was curried lentils and potatoes over rice with piece of flat bread), plus a handful of fruit.

He's definitely just picked or stopped eating at times, so I know he gets full and he eats slowly enough that I'm not concerned he's just stuffing his face and not recognizing he's full.

Despite all of this he's still pretty lean. At his 9 month appointment he was in the 75th or so percentile for weight, which is where he's been for months (he started out in the 90-something, and then dipped into the 80-something, and is now settled in the 75th). His pedi isn't concerned, but she was a bit surprised that he didn't weigh more given how much he eats. (He still has 2-3 good nursing sessions a day, plus constant "drive-by" nursing). He's not a chubby baby at all...he's very...dense, I guess.

I'm sure he's working a lot of it off because he's now walking around everywhere, and DH can eat a ton and has stayed the same pant size since high school (he's 33, lean, and his weight has only ever fluctuated by about 5lbs either way. Jerk.)

We're going in for his 1 year appointment in a few weeks and I'm planning on talking to his pedi about it again then, but I'm curious what the hive opinion is. Would you be concerned he's eating too much? And I starting to worry over nothing?

(PS--He eats more than me some days. If he continues this trend than I'm terrified about how much he'll eat when he's a teenager.)
