I love using Yelp to find new restaurants. I depend on the reviews I find on that site to tell me if I'm going to want to go or not. For example, if reviewer after reviewer says service stinks but the food is good, we won't go there. I've started writing reviews on Yelp because I think it really helps others out.

Yes I do!! I'm like you and find reviews super useful, so I began writing reviews for everything after our Christmas vaca last year.

Only if it's really good or really bad which I know isn't helpful for the so-so places.
I rely heavily on reviews, but in NYC there are professionals who review every new restaurant in an unbiased way so it's not as important for me to read everyday peoples opinions. But for example in the rare situation where I read that a restaurant is excellent and I try it and find that it wasn't the case at all, I might be compelled to create a username and write my own opinion. But that's pretty rare.

Sometimes, I will on yelp. They are usually positive reviews because if I would feel bad writing a negative review if it was just someone having a bad day due to life issues or being understaffed. I try to be as objective as possible in my reviews. If it's a reoccuring problem, then maybe I'll say that.

I do, but not on yelp. I usually write reviews on my blog and add pictures and stuff. I use yelp a lot, though. I've thought about writing reviews on there, too, but it seemed like too much work to write both.

I used to-- I was Yelp Elite for 5 years (I had a gold badge and everything), but then I got tired of all social media and deleted my Yelp, FB, Twitter, etc. accounts one day. Now I'm just a moocher who reads reviews for tips

I'm a HUGE yelper, been Elite 3 years running! I'm currently in a challenge to write 100 reviews this year so I'm reviewing anything and everything.
