Our teachers have been with Charlie for almost two years now, and he really truly loves them! When he leaves, he always goes to give them a hug and a kiss and say "I love you"... and they reciprocate!

Yes. I just heard that they also kiss on the lips. For toddlers I understand how that's hard to learn but I would prefer on the cheek.

How do you feel about elementary teachers telling kids they love them? I teach k-4 special ed and my students tell me and my classroom assistant that they love us. After Sandy Hook I always say it back but I'm curious how parents feel about it?

@ladybee: i don't know, my gut reaction is that saying "I love you" to a student is fine. Especially from K-4.

@thehistoryofus @mrbee @mediagirl: thanks! I've always wondered but after 5 years together (or 1) I do love them! The reassurance was nice. My DH is always so nervous someone is going to sue over something silly!
