My FIL called me because my husband wasn't answering his phone. When I answered he said, "Hello, Jill. This is your father in law." I wanted to say, "Hello, father in law..." But I didn't. We don't talk on the phone unless he is trying to reach my husband.

Nope unless they're trying to reach the hubby. However, if they do call me or the hubby, they always ask how I'm doing.

Yes, my MIL does. I'm not a phone talker, so I always feel awkward. Even yesterday she called and asked me about my dr appointment and then went on and on about other things. She's usually trying to weasel out info on me or DH, though, lol.

My MIL does. Neither of us really talk to my FIL.

No, never to me and rarely to DH. They live down the road though so if they call it's just to see if they can come over.

My MIL will call me if she is babysitting and has a question, but usually they just call DH, if his phone is dead they will call mine adn I usually just hand it to him since I know they are trying to reach him!

My MIL will call to check up on us when she knows DH is gone for the week.

I call her more than she calls me, but I'm a talker (if you knew me IRL you'd know this is the understatement of the century). If we haven't seen eachother in over a week I'll call to check in and see how they are doing.

MIL texts sometimes, and I'll talk to her on the phone if DH is already talking to her (speakerphone) but otherwise, no. FIL just marches over to our house unannounced when he wants to talk to us, lol

They almost always call me when they're trying to get a hold of DH. And sometimes just to check in.

My MIL messages me occasionally, but they don't generally call me. I do often talk to my MIL when she's chatting with DH, he needs to go do something, and he hands me his phone or ipad.

yes. FIL will call to check up on me and MIL and I talk for HOURS.
