I want to buy a box of lansinoh bags to store breastmilk in the freezer. Looking on amazon I see quite a few complaints about the bags leaking during the defrosting. Did you guys have this issue?

I'm curious about this as well. I've heard nothing but great things about the Lansinoh bags, but the reviews on amazon have scared me a little bit. Looking forward to seeing how everyone responds!

I used them for 2 months, but never had leaking probs!

maybe people are filling them to the brim and the milk is expanding causing them to crack? i usually freeze my milk in 4-5 oz portions so there's plenty of room to allow for expansion.

The only time I have had one leak was when it froze with a kink in the bag. I guess the frozen milk pierced the side. It wasn't because of a fault in the bag or seal.
Now when I freeze I make sure to freeze flat. They also stack better that way.

Ive only had one leak, and Im still not sure what happened with it. I lay them all flat to freeze. But Ive used literally hundreds of them and only had that one off. Like someone else said, dont fill them all the way. The max I have frozen in there is 8oz and there is still a ton of room left over.

Thanks this is really helpful. I think you guys are right that the negative reviews are by people who are over filling the bags trying to get "more" out of each bag and thats causing the leaking problems.

I used hundreds of them and I think I had fewer than a handful of leaky ones.

i use them exclusively for both my girls and never find leaking to be a problem. the only time it leaked was when i was defrosting them in hot water that was too hot.

I only had this happen one time and it happened after we had traveled with a bag of frozen milk in a cooler with other items in the cooler - I think the bag got some abuse in the cooler and since the milk was frozen, the bag couldn't be as forgiving as a thawed/liquid bag of milk...make sense? We still use Lansinoh and this is the only time this has happened.

Okay so this is kinda showing how insane/dedicated I am to pumping haha but I have 2090 oz of BM stored as of this morning & almost all of that is lansinoh bags. I love them!

I have had leaks when defrosting. So now I double bag when I defrost. And no, I have not overfilled the bags, they are maybe half full
