My LO woke up with a few deep scratches on her nose this morning. I think this one will leave a scar for bit. This is pretty common for her. I just cut her nails on Monday but maybe I need to file them, too, since they seem really sharp. Do you all cut and file? Does that help make them less sharp?

I cut my LO's nails every other day for this very reason. If they're just the tiniest bit long, she'll end up with a scratch on her face.
Kills me.

@chopsuey119: I feel like it is not the length but they are just so SHARP. Guess I will try to file, too.

@Andrea: mm. yeah. I usually run my fingers across to make sure they're not sharp. FIling should def help though!

I file and she still scratches herself. She is always wiggling when I do her nails so it's impossible to make them perfect.

My friends baby wears some type of mittens on her hands when she sleeps because she scratches herself so much.

@chopsuey119: is there a specific nail clipper or filer that really works for you? or did you just buy a generic one at the store?

@enjollah: I just bought cheap, generic baby clippers. They were $2.99 I think.

I just filed LOs nails yesterday and they're still sharp. She wiggles around too much for me to do it properly.
