To preface: I am a total type-A schedule person... which means I've had a rough time with this whole baby thing and I am REALLY trying to let go and be more flexible. I know it's impossible to really make a newborn live by my schedule.

That being said... at the suggestion of our pediatrician I started trying to get LO on a rough EASY schedule at 5 weeks (she's almost 7 weeks now, so we're just 2 weeks into this). Her weight gain is good at this point so I don't have to wake to eat, although I try to feed her every 3 hours, unless she seems really hungry earlier.

Usually I have a hard time getting her to sleep at all during the day, and I'm lucky to get some 30 or 45 min naps. But some days she seems sleepier and she'll sleep for hours. And I always worry she is sleeping too long? Like first I don't want her eating to get too far off schedule. And also I worry if she sleeps all day long she won't sleep as well at night (she is currently a rock star sleeper at night).

So basically right now I tend to wake her if she's going to be more than 30 min late for a meal, or if she has been sleeping 2 hours.

Am I the only one that does this? Do other people just let their babies sleep as much as they want all day?
