I told myself pre-baby that Baby Uggs, though so cute, were ridiculous and I would not let myself buy them until LO was old enough to walk. Fast forward to post-baby, and of course, I want to get LO a pair. ugh.
Talk me out of this insanity. OR, tell me why they are good anyway.

My lo is not even one and has two pairs of uggs 
the bixbee were a waste of money for us bc she hardly wore shoes when she was that young and they always fell off. Now she wears Erin and I love them! They actually stay on her feet and keep them warm. It's hard for her to walk in them tho cuz they're alittle big and don't have a hard sole but she still wears them a lot when we're out and about. So id recommend those ones

We got 2 pairs as gifts, but I would never buy them. They are not supportive, fall off, and are not the easiest to get on. But yes, they are cute!

I was looking for a pair of Ugg liked used and ended up finding finding a pair of Bearpaw for $10!
I would never buy my child a pair of Uggs brand new because I personally don't have the money to spend on that. I've seen them used on fb groups and even then for like $35+!
If it's the style you like I would get another brand. Target or ON has the style for much cheaper.

@shopaholic: I've seen pink Uggs for less than $30 at Nordstrom Rack (at one point I found a couple pairs for $10 on clearance and I don't have any baby girls around me!)

DS had a ridiculously cute pair of EMU critter boots last year, and I bought another pair for this year that sadly, don't fit. I will be getting him toddler Uggs instead.

I wanted to get lo a pair of emu or ugg boots mainly bc I want something warm that is easy to slip on. But the baby styles don't have real soles so now that he's walking I think it would be pointless 
I would check out emu tho, they're cheaper.

I'm pro Ugg. They're cute as hell and we have matching pairs, which is fun. They don't start having hard soles until size 6, so she has the small Erins now and I will just get her the hard sole ones next winter. The Erins are not super great for walking, but she prefers to walk barefoot (well to creep and push her toys barefoot) so she mainly wears them out and about. I think we get enough use and cuteness out of them to justify the price. Plus, if you look on eBay, you can easily sell them when your LO outgrows them and recoup most of your money. They sell like freakin hot cakes on there for $30 and up even with signs of wear.
She may be my only daughter so having matching Uggs is one of those little fun splurges that I think is totally worth it:)

My LO just turned 2 and we were gifted a pink pair. I would never pay that much for baby shoes that are so seasonal but I will say they are so well made and super duper soft and so stinkin cute.

I think I would if we have more cold fronts coming up. It's because I would gladly buy it for my niece as a gift so I would feel guilty if I don't buy it for my own child.

I'm pro expensive shoes for my LO so I'm no help!!!
I justify it because I'm pregnant with another girl, so everything will get used again!
I buy most of her clothes from Target and Old Navy on sale, so she doesn't have super expensive clothes. I think shoes make the outfit!!!

I am so happy I didn't let myself buy DD a pair. I loved them pre-baby and even when she was small, thought they were practical for our long, cold winters.
Now that she's a toddler, I realize how impractical they are for us! It's usually wet here and places like daycare will leave the kids them outside for hours at a time - there's no way they'd be insulated enough for wet days (even with the stray on protection). On days when we just want to go to the store and she'll be in the stroller, they work, but I can think of cuter shoes for that. She can't wear them indoors because everyone takes off their shoes here.
So basically, for our climate, they're not practical. If we had a drier winter I'd probably get them though. She had similar boots last winter and they worked because she wasn't walking yet.

My LO has hand me down uggs from a friend. They're pretty cute, even though they're still big on her. I don't know what they cost new, but I imagine they'd be more than I'd be willing to spend. I'm glad we have them though as I imagine they're cozy!

Last winter my lo who wasnt walking at the time had uggs. they were her only shoes and im so glad we bought them because she wore them every time we went out, and they kept her feet warm. I thought they were very easy to put on!

We have a pair. I find them hard to put on and now that she's walking I'm worried that she'll trip on them. The soft soles seem so unsteady. Ironically the weather got cold the week she learned to walk.
I don't know that I'd buy them again.

We were gifted pink baby Uggs. She was a newborn in Feb, so they were too big then, but by the next winter at 10-ish months, they were perfect! She wasn't walking til 13 months (near the end of winter), but it was fine... She still needed warm shoes when going out! This was in NY, btw. Every year after that, she got Emu's or some other Ugg-like brand each winter. I was excited when #2 was a girl too and thought I could pass everything down, but they were born in opposite seasons. So some things I just bought again, since the sizing was off and winter shoes/boots were one of them.
Here in SoCal though, we got them both Uggs last year, but now I think it's overkill because it doesn't get that cold here. So this winter is the first we're not buying them!

@locavore_mama: I have a pair of Bearpaws I bought while pregnant. I went by the "months" guide on the box for this winter, and o course, they are too big. I bet they'll fit NEXT winter.
@rachiecakes: I did see a pair of pink, glittery ones at Nordstrom Rack the other day. Which is what made me think about this. But I think I'd like a solid, neutral that I could pass down, or at least wear with more outfits? They were $35, but if I saw them for $10, I'd buy them - no question about it!

I bought knockoffs at H&M and I'm glad I did since M doesn't like keeping shoes on and lost a sneaker last night. I'd be really mad if we lost Uggs rather than $10 shoes

I work part-time at a children's consignment shop and there's a pair of Pink Baby Uggs there, about 12 month size, and they are just too precious! Don't look like they were ever worn either! However, they are soft soled and $20, and even though I know that's a HUGE discount (and I would get a 20% employee discount) I can't justify the cost for something that would just fall off and not be practical at all. They ARE super duper adorable though!!

I bought a pair of Uggs for my 2.5 year old, but they would brush against each other when she walked/ran so I returned them. Girl loves to run around and I didn't want the boots to hold her back.
It gets cold here, but socks + sneakers will be fine this winter.

We have three pairs -- the classic ones for my baby girl and the lace-up back and some babyish navy-tan ones were for my son although he's long grown out of them. All gifts from my mom. (Sorry I don't know the style names!!) all have been useful and nice mostly due to the warmth factor. Oh and they're adorable.

I would never buy Uggs. I'm a vegetarian, so my only option for shoes are vegan ones. We got a cute pair of faux suede boots instead. They are cute and much cheaper.
