I'm looking for a modern crib in a dark finish - black or something darker than espresso.
Does anyone have any experience with this crib:
The few reviews I've found seem decent. I like the drawer on the bottom, but am a little concerned about how low it seems. Does it seem significantly lower than something like this?

I love the Baby Mod Modena but the espresso finish is lighter than we want.

Idk if you've made a decision yet but @Mrs.Pen has the modena and so do we. I REALLY love it! I love that it's low & I love that all the sides are equal in height. It seems that the mattress will easily go down far enough to continue to be safe as P grows and starts standing more.

I do still really like the Modena - I'm mulling over going with white furniture instead of the darker finish. I usually dislike white furniture but I think it might look nice with the yellow walls we are planning.

@Revel: I forgot to add that it was really easy to put together and feels really sturdy too! They have a grey option too (the one Mrs. Pen got & I so wanted) and then a similar model Parklane that has white/brown combo AND a drawer like that first link you posted. Don't know if you had seen it.

@runsyellowlites: It sounds like a great crib! I like the grey one - do you think that and a white dresser would work together?
I really like the Parklane and also the Olivia from Baby Mod, but I'm trying to stay closer to $200.

@Revel: I so covet the grey! I went with the safe dark wood since P is still in our room. lol
I believe the dresser in the room picture on the website is white so I would say yep! =)

Are you talking about the height of it? It's about 1.5 inches lower than the Modena... I wouldn't think that's a big deal. 
We bought the storkcraft libby and it is OVERLY tall - 43.5" - it looks massive! (Alas, the cat can still jump into it... haha)

@runsyellowlites: I hadn't noticed that about the photo with the grey.... interesting. Now to convince FI!
@LazyLightning: I was thinking about the height of the actual crib mattress, but I guess they're all pretty low these days aren't they? We had a small nursery so I think something lower profile will be a better choice. I really like your crib, but you're right, it is tall!
