Most of our friends and family know, but we really didn't tell them until recently.

besides DH, our parents, my sis and a close cousin who is also having IF issues...its hard to talk to just anyone about the issue, i am personally scared people will judge and think i am "trying to hard" i hate those comments so i only really talk about it to a hand ful of people that will be supportive and give good advice...

DH was just mentioning how random it was who knows IRL. Our families know, as well as our accountant (because we needed to discuss the financial aspect of IVF) and some people we work with. Some of my friends know as well. None of them have gone through IF and I'm not sure they know how to handle it or what to compare it to, but we didn't want to keep it completely to ourselves.

We didn't tell anyone when we were going through IVF. But now that we have been successful, I am very open about it. I feel like it is a stigma and I know it hurts for so many people. Since I do not have all of the hurt I figure that it is easier for me to share and make it less stigmatized. Since I can. So we are very open about how our son is our IVF baby and worth 20 thousand dollars.

This time around everyone knows we are planning a FET in August so if it doesn't work it will be really difficult to tell everyone.

@brownie: We've also agreed that if the IVF works we'd like to be very open about it in order to help take away some of the stigma that people feel. We want people to know that normal people need it and do it.

I've told my family but they seem in denial so I don't love telling people.

My friends knew. Family didn't.

We've been really open about it and I've glad that we've told the people close to us. All of our family and close friends know and have been wonderful and supportive.

It's made things easier for me because friends who have become pregnant have been really sensive in the way they share the news with me, people are understanding that baby showers are hard for me, etc.

Infertility is so painful and isolating. I'm hoping by being open about it, I can be a support and encouragement to anyone else in my life who is going through it or will go through it down the road.
