I get engorged about once every night now that DS is sleeping a bit better. Sometimes the next day I feel tenderness and soreness. Is this normal or should I be on the lookout for another clogged duct?

I think it can. Even times I was "getting" a plugged duct I'd be sore for a bit afterward. Could it be from you laying a certain way? Like on the side you lay, that's where it's sore? Or just in general?

@runsyellowlites: Its the top of my left side, always. It gets way more engorged than the other side. I sleep on both sides equally and on my back so I don't *think* I slept on it last night.

@grizz: I'd just watch it for a plugged duct.... maybe massage & nurse that side first. I would think as long as it doesn't go too long it shouldn't be a real issue though.

My boobs are sore for awhile after they've been engorged and get emptied- I think it's normal.

When S began sleeping for 7-8 hours at a stretch, I had a plugged duct that seemed to turn into mastitis nearly as soon as I realized it was there. I was sore--usually in the same spot--from nightly engorgement most days and woke up to pump every morning at 4:30. I didn't get another plugged duct, but I say still keep an eye out for it! I finally got to the point where I am still full in the morning, but my boobs aren't super hard/sore when I wake up.
On another note - glad to hear that your LO is sleeping better!

@tororojo: Ditto. I always had some residual soreness. I have never had a clogged duct.
