I'm a little over 9 mo pp. Still no period but have been having a lot of EWCM the last couple days. Is this a sign that I'm ovulating again? Any similar experiences?

I'm 7.5 months PP with no AF yet and I periodically get EWCM! Sometimes it can be quite a bit! Before babies I would assume that it would mean ovulation but I have yet to see AF (and I'm not pregnant) so I guess it doesn't always?

@Running Elley: thanks! We aren't ttc yet, but I'm starting to worry I'm going to have to wean to get my period back. Was hoping this was a sign I won't have to!

I wouldn't assume it was, but I wouldn't be surprised if you do start in a couple weeks if you haven't been having varying amounts of it already. Hormones are strange when breastfeeding.

It was for me at 4m PP. I didn't notice it until then and a couple weeks later AF arrived.

I had EWCM for several months before I actually got AF (which showed up at 12 months pp, 2 weeks to the day after I fully weaned). I just figured it was weird, pp body stuff and didn't assume I was ovulating.

For me, no. I've had EWCM since 9 weeks PP and I'm at 22 weeks PP with no AF in sight.

@Zbug: I've been wondering the exact same thing. I've had it on and off effort but the last few days have had a lot so I wondered if af will be back in a couple of weeks. C will be a year at the end of the month, but since we won't be ttc for quite a while I'm very happy to not have a period! I even told Dh we have to be extra careful.

Ooo, pick me! I just finished reading my postpartum NFP book, like 10min ago. EWCM definitely means higher estrogen levels, but they can fluctuate up and down a lot before cycles actually start. So you might see it come and go for month or two before it becomes a more typical pattern that actually culminates in ovulation (and a period). If you start recording your BBT you'll be able to see if you have a shift, then you'll know you can expect a period. Short luteal phases are normal in the first few cycles, too, so it may not be a full 12-17 days from peak to period. It does sound like your body is starting to revv up for fertility, though!

@Foodnerd81: I always said I wanted it to come back the month before we wanted to start ttc, but I'm weirdly nervous. We are ao not ready, but I'm having baby fever. I need to reign it in.
@anandam: interesting!! I have had a few days where I had EWCM, but it was definitely a lot more this time around. I'm still nursing 8-10 times a day/night, so I've been wondering if it might still take awhile. Maybe not!
