I always wondered what others experiences are? For me milk comes out up to the first 7-10 minutes. Longer part of one breast an ten again at around the 15 minute mark. The rest it's just going. What about you?

I only usually pump for ten minutes so yes but if I go longer then it starts and stops.

Do you think my letdown is considered fast since mainly the milk comes out all in the first 7-9 minutes and then again a very little at 15-20 mark?

Mine would continue to drip the whole time... but I was massaging (aka squeezing the crap out of them) while I was pumping.

@MrsBeachyBaby: I think that sounds normal, I've heard that the breast can be emptied by a baby in 7-10 min so it makes sense that it would be the same for a pump.

Usually for the first 10 mins is when I get the most milk. If I'm engorged it will continue to drip but not squirt out for the next 5 mins...I stop pumping at 15 usually.

I think at the beginning and right again around the end of the session is pretty normal. I've gotten another letdown right around 30 before. (I pump for 30 since I EP.)

Mine flows for about 10 mins (doing breast compressions the entire time), then stops, then I wait for second letdown. Then it flows for only a couple of minutes.

I get 99% of what will come out by the 3 minute mark. It is like a milk tsunami for those 3 minutes though. I have an extremely fast letdown.

@MsMini: Same here. It might take a few seconds to start (although I find it comes faster if I let my body completely relax), but once it gets going it's over and done within 5 minutes. I can usually get a second *shorter) letdown around 7-10 minutes, but I don't think I've ever pumped longer than that.
