I have successfully nursed in public a number of times - yay!
But Olive is irritated and distracted by the nursing cover. Does your baby hate the nursing cover? How do you nurse in public?

I usually use a lightweight muslin swaddle and if she is irritated with it over her then I just kinda use it to block the side of her. I'll wear a v-neck tank and then a shirt over top. Top layer is lifted, v-neck tank stays in place, swaddle goes on outside side of baby. You'd have to be superman to see anything.

I do the same as maysprout. I just use one of the a&a swaddle blankets. I try to first find the most descrete place to nurse. The blanket covers her head and meets the part of the shirt that's lifted up. Once they're settled into nursing, I can usually pull up the blanket more.

My LO's never had a problem with my bebe au lait cover. Now that she's bigger she'll grab and swat at it, but once the milk starts flowing she stops trying to expose my boob.

I second the AA blanket. I need the nursing cover now, though, because he would totally fling off a blanket now.

My little girls hates my cover. I've tried a blanket too. I will now try tank and shirt over, that may be an easier option.

My LO was okay with it until maybe 7 months. By then, she had better control of her hands and would try to pull it. She was also easily distracted so most of the time, I just nurse in the car tp avoid distractions.

I wouldn't go so far to say she hates it. She will bat at it with her arms or kick it with her feet, but not in an "I'm irritated at it" sort of way. I think it's more because she's a bigger and more active baby than before (6 months old now). I still use it sometimes though. But nowadays I usually nurse in public with a nursing tank under a regular shirt. Or I have a nursing t-shirt by the company Boob that covers the chest area and has easy access. I also have something called Undercover Mama. You wear it under any shirt... it hides your belly (its like a tube top with loops that hang onto any nursing bra (won it at a raffle at a parenting expo!). And since it's cold now, I also use my scarf for a little cover-up as well. It just looks like I'm holding a sleeping baby.
