So we ran out of checks, went to get more and to buy ONE freaking box it cost $40!!! omg. I actually said to the teller, "So we have to pay nearly $50 just to be able to dole out more money??!" She agreed it's a little backwards... it's just a stack of paper - why the heck is it $40?!?
DH told me that his bank before we got married (that we don't have in the midwest) gave him free checks all the time. Is this the norm? I'm wondering if it's worth it to switch banks. There are other local banks here that probably have the same level of customer service as ours (I like the small-town locally owned banks).
