My daughter uses the regular toilet 90% of the time but we have a floor potty in our bathroom upstairs and she refuses to use the toilet in that room. I just love it when she has to poop when she is upstairs...

I get really annoyed when DS uses his little potty during the day (especially to poop), but we keep it in his room so he'll go on his own at night without waking us (otherwise it turns into "try potty" 5 times a night, just to get us to come in...)
Our new house will have carpeted bedrooms, though, so I think we'll make him walk to the bathroom for nighttime potty, and i'll ditch the little one.

No, he's never had any interest in it at all! He was way more interested in the "big potty" and refused to even try the "baby potty".

No, we never got one, since we didn't want to clean it out! We got a ring for the big toilet, and since then have replaced our toilet seat with one of those seats that has a built-in ring insert. DS can actually scoot himself onto the big toilet now (he's 3).

not anymore. when we first trained we started with the floor potty. it took her a month or two to start to use the big potty more. eventually she started using the big potty exclusively. i think it probably took about 2 months? it helped that she only has a big potty at school so she got used to it. now she just uses the floor potty as a step stool (we have the one with the lid)

We have a floor potty and a ring for the adult toilet. DS uses both to pee depending upon his mood. But he only poops in the adult toilet with a ring.

Yes. He MUCH prefers it, especially for pooping. I'd like it if he used the the big one but I understand he's not as comfortable/stable on it.

He never even wanted to sit on it! We wasted money on two different floor potties and then a ring on the big toilet that he only used for the first two months.

@jmarionsmith: Same. Xander prefers the floor potty. He'll only occasionally use the regular toilet and only to pee. I don't mind - better than having to change a diaper!
