I feel really lucky to live somewhere where there is a lot of BFing support. Aside from a number of different birth/postpartum support centres that offer private lactation consultations, we also have at least four BFing drop-in clinics each week. I'm heading to one shortly - I feel like we're doing pretty well with BFing now (thank goodness, because the first 3-4 weeks were HELL), but I'm still going to pop in because I love the support and social atmosphere and I want to weigh DD.
Is this typical in most communities? I really have no idea. Did you take advantage of BFing supports in your community? Did you find them helpful? Honestly, if it weren't for the amazing LCs in my city I wouldn't still be BFing....they're pretty much my heroes!
