Ours does after 2 years of age...they don't wait to be the ones to discover if a child has allergies. What about yours?

Yes. All of the daycare centers we looked at provide meals.

Yes. They provide snacks and lunch every day. Not sure how it works when they are just on purees. We switched to this center when she was 15 months.

Yep, every day. They even have purees for the babies and just ask which ones they are allowed to give them.

Yes, all meals and snacks. (in-home). She just asks before giving anything new that is a possible allergen. I gave a list of approved/not approved foods when he started.

Yes, we only provide BM/formula. When LO was on purees the DCP made the purees. We notified DCP as we introduced allergens.

Yup! We only provide breastmilk or formula and purees when they're an infant.
A lot of places we checked out didn't provide food though. If they did, it cost us extra $$.

Ours provides all food (breakfast, lunch, and 2 snacks) plus milk. We had to provide breast milk (obviously) or formula while she was on it, and purees if needed for infant room, but we could also select solid foods off the regular menu for the babies to be given as we felt comfortable.

Nope, I pack her lunch and snacks every day. I don't mind because I'm packing my lunch and DHs lunch anyway.

Our daycare center doesn't allow any outside food or drinks at all because of allergies. They provide all snacks and meals, and even make a cake whenever a kid has a birthday.
ETA: This center is only for kids 18 months and up.

Other. Our daycare provides snacks and we have the option to purchase lunch for $4 a day. I usually purchase lunch for DS two times a week. Not having to pack anything for those two days is nice!

Daycare provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. I think all daycares here do.

They provide morning and afternoon snacks once you're in the 2s class (so not the infant room). You can buy lunch too.

My son doesn't go to daycare (I'm a SAHM), but I've worked at several daycares and all of them provided food for all age groups, along with snacks. The babies get purees and real food.

yes, they provide everything (after purees and breastmilk/formula) and it is included in the tuition price.
We may switch centers next year and it will be Pay More, Get Less: I will have to pack lunch and provide snacks for the entire class when it is "our snack week".

They provide all meals, snacks, and milk. We provided purees and BM.

We started him when he was 19 months so I'm not sure about the infant room, but the young toddlers, young preschool and preschool classes all have breakfast, lunch and a snack.

I think it depends on your state laws. In CA I think that daycare centers are not allowed to provide hot food. They can do snacks but no cooking, so most that I have seen and heard about do not provide lunch but do provide some snacks. Mine go to an in-home daycare and there they are allowed to cook, so they provide the food.

NO Our in-home did, now our pre-school does not. Packing lunch is the worst!

Yes. They don't provide breakfast, but they have a morning snack (which is hearty enough to be a breakfast), but they do: snack, lunch, snack. We bring L's breakfast to daycare.
nectarine / 2173 posts
Yes they provide all meals after about 10 months old. Kids can start trying things off the menu at that point.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
Yep. We provided formula for lo2 until a year but after 6-7 months he got real food too.

Yes, they provide breakfast, lunch, and two snacks once LOs enter the toddler rooms at 15 months. Infant room parents are responsible for bringing in all milk and food/snacks.

Yes. Lao goes to a little preschool. They provide all drinks, snacks, and lunch. They accommodate our vegan lifestyle (school is veggie), which is really, really helpful and kind.
nectarine / 2210 posts
No. We have to bring a lunch each day. For the older kids you bring in snacks monthly or so and they feed them so they don't get brought everyday. There's always signs on the door reminding parents that they're running out of juice or popcicles in the summer or popcorn for movie days.

Breakfast and lunch yes, and the parents take turns bringing in snacks. It's pretty good, too!
nectarine / 2466 posts
2 snacks and lunch. If you pick up after 530, they'll also feed dinner ( just leftover lunch though.) YOu just need to bring in formula/breastmilk if they still take it. I can't remember what they said about purees, they girl don't start until January.

Yes. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. I send him some fruit every day for his afternoon snack though, most of the parents send snacks. He started there at 12 months and the first few months I sent lunch of foods he'd eat. Once they were confident he would eat the provided lunch they told me to stop sending food. We sent milk until he was 2 as they only provide 2%.

The two daycares we seriously considered-- one provided all food and you needed a doctor's note to provide something different! And it was crappy stuff. The one we will almost certainly go with, it provides snacks (mostly fruits and veggies) but you're welcome to provide your own. You provide lunch.
eggplant / 11824 posts
Yes. They have an on-site "chef" and prepare all meals and snacks and focus a lot on using local, organic ingredients and produce. The classes each also have a garden where they grow tomatoes and stuff for learning and snacks. You can also bring in your own food, but there are rules due to food allergies.
