Does your early intervention program provide transportation? Ours offered to pick up and return our daughter for speech therapy once a week. I was shocked but thought it was great for working parents. DH stays home so he takes her. I'm just wondering if this is typical.

Never heard of that, and I'd be pretty shocked too! How does that even work, would they pick her up by herself or with one of you?
In NYC they either do home visits or come to day care.

Mine does offer it if you send them to developmental preschool. I don't use it because uses Drop in speech instead.

@Mama Bird: they use a small school bus to pick the kids up from daycare. Some of the speech therapists will also visit the child's daycare but some of the services they only offer at their headquarters.
I think part of the reason they offer transportation is because it's a two-county agency and not remotely centrally located.

Nice! The EI department at my job (I'm in the mental health department) does not and I often think it would be nice if we were all able to transport.
