Yes. He does ask. We always let him call if it's a decent time or if she's not at work. He's 4 (almost 5) now though so it's usually to tell them something important about his day.

DS asks all the time! He also asks to call his Aunties I always let him. Like Charlie though, he is still confused with the answering machine. Today we called my mom and her answering machine picked up and he goes "Nana, do you know where my blocks are?" and then he just sat there waiting!

DD asks sometimes, and we always call. Sometimes she asks to Skype with her auntie, so we try to do that when she asks, too. She doesn't seem too confused by voicemail, although she doesn't like leaving messages.

DD often asks to talk to "Papa" (which is how she refers to all 3 of her grandparents regardless of their gender). In reality she wants to see the picture of them come up on my cell phone or she sees the laptop and wants to video chat with them. We don't always call them when she asks.
